Does that save bandwidth/space?

or just to *** off the googlers while search is down :p

It saves a LOT of bandwidth, especially for something that is generally useless. Well... useless when the search is working anyway :p

Allowing Google to cache the forum might mean (portions of) threads that get deleted are still able to be viewed. The dons might not want that. :)

If you put site:forums.overclockers.co.uk into google, then click show similar results it does find a lot of threads - although most of them old pruned ones.

I've not heard of a robots.txt being used on the forums and don't think it would be a good idea from a business pov - if somebody is searching for a motherboard, we'd rather they find the forums if they don't find the shop - at least they're not finding a competitor then :)

It's not really done much to fix the problem, the forum was just inaccessible for about 3 or 4 minutes.

The other night it was locked up for hours, this is a lot better.

yeh it's definitly better but I'm worried if it's taking this much time to fix, I'm paraniod another nuke could be on it's way :( .

I don't think it will come to that. Don't worry :p

Is this why my "Find More Posts by R124/LA420" tab no longer works? - This is how I keep track of what threads I've posted in. :(
