Saddam Hussein Executed

Just been reading up on some of the things sadam has actually comitted and when you put it into perspective, he was the epitome of evil. Putting people through shredders and other such persecutions that would make you feel quite ill. He also used to get his food flown in from abroad and he would take a prisoner to test it each day and then he would put a gun to his head and shoot him. Each day, everyday. This man was barbaric

and ? does that mean his was justified on using it on his own people does it ?, If I give you a gun to defend your self and you go off shooting people in your own family like a mad man then who's to blame ?

Ofcourse it wasnt justified. But I think it kind of stinks that we supply him with the stuff and then turn around and say "wasnt he a ghastly man". Then we perfectly take the moral high ground and just get rid of him.

Saddam should have shot himself, but didnt have the balls to do it. Saddam won, he and we knew that he would be hanged. He goes down as being murdered and a martyr.

I didnt know how to feel when I heard of his death but then I saw a video on Youtube of Saddam punishments.

A man had both his arms vilently broken because he did not follow an order completely. (there was no backstory other than that). They held the man down, placed his arm across two stacks of bricks and then broke it with a bat.

Then they had video of a man having his finger chopped off with a large sword.

Men getting their tongues cut out

That was just ONE video.

Yea, Saddam deserved Absolutly EVERYTHING he got and probably more.

The man ordered the torture and execution of many, many people and still people sob into their sleeve and cry: "but his death accomplishes nothing, I can't believe we allowed for him to be executed". For goodness sake get some perspective, it is what he deserved... why use money and resources keeping him alive and have the slim possibility that he escapes or is set free by supporters?

I personally think his punishment was very light compared to those he tortured, hanging isn't pleasant, but it's a damn site less painful than being tied to a chair and being beaten for hours, electrocuted, and having cigarettes stubbed out on you.

Of course if you believe in the next life then his real torture has only just begun...

Because I don't believe in punishment for the sake of punishment. Locking him up removed his power to inflict any more harm.
The court was a fast by the Americans, he should have been tried in the court specification set up for war crimes.
And lastly I don't think it's ever right to kill someone EVER.

Quit jibbin' blood! Saddam was all ghetto! He was so close to making it as a rap artist too :(

good, justice has been served. he was a waste of air alive IMO.

it's just a shame we don't have the death sentence in this country, and our murderers and rapists can't be handled the same way.

The wrong people were hanged. It is Bush and Blair that should have gone to the gallows.

One of the earliest videos i saw of saddam was at a baath party meeting in a big hall. All the senior members of the party were there, saddam sat in a chair on the stage and read out a list of names he said were planning a coup and these people were dragged outside and shot.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.
