Safari 4 Beta

liking the new safari, but the click link to open in a new window annoys me and you can't set a default to open in a new tab.. you have to hold ctrl.

It breaks focus on the Messenger for Mac as well. Type a message, enter, lose focus. Infuriating.

I know the answer is Adium and the like however we use OCS extensively so I need the Messenger client for that. So, nice looking, fast, works well, but breaks other things I need in a way that gives me the absolutely funking rage :)

I uninstalled it for that reason alone - made using Messenger incredibly irritating. And I hate Adium so using that is a no-no.

Well 100/100 in Acid 3 and Javascript performance is more double that of the latest stable FF release so I like those aspects.

I hate everything else....

I'm using the Safari 4 beta at the moment. I quite like it, and it is pretty nippy, but I somehow feel Firefox is more secure, as Safari 3 has pretty bad rep security-wise. (Obviously Safari 4 will be more secure, but I'll hold off until the results of pwn2own before deciding whether to trust Safari 4 with my e-banking or not!)

Oh, and thanks EVH, that non-tabbing issue was really annoying me, cheers for the terminal command :)

Gotta be honest, I really don't like the whole window tab concept at all. I hope there'll be an option to revert back to how it is now when the final version gets released.

Go to preferences. It's in there for both of them.

That preference only handles links clicked from an external app. e.g. Mail

Clicking some links on pages in the browser itself still spawns multiple windows, unless you run that terminal command.

The browser is awesome but broke messenger and its insanely nippy having to type then click on the white box every time.

Not a huge Safari fan. Firefox works the way I like it and feels like a finished ap, safari feels like a beta ap still

I downloaded the webkit and Installed it into applications, msn still appears to the same thing. Am i missing something :(
