Saints Row demo is up on marketplace

By the time i'd finished the demo I was feeling a bit more positive about the game.

Ok its an unashamed rip off of GTA practically lock stock and barrel but it will certainly be a nice stopgap till GTA4 next year.

The cars handle well actually (though they seem to take way more damage than GTA's ones I didnt wreck my car once during the demo!) You get some impressive collisions (run into the red barriers which cordon the demo off if you want to have a big crash!) and the ragdoll physics look cool as the guys bounce around off your bonnet.

Critisisms other than the graphics (which are a bit up and down) I think the map holds your hand to much, theres no need for it to show you the exact route to your destination.

My aformentioned hate of these wannabe gangsta settings, give me the mafia setting from GTA3/LCS or the 80's Vice City setting any day of the week rather than hearing people swearing every other word. If GTA4 is set over here it'll probably be worse as theres more wannabe gangsta chavs over here than over there!!!

Dunno if i'll get the game on release (might get test drive instead) but would give it a go once its gone down in price or second hand.

played it for 10mins or so, gfx was abit of a disappointment but still good, jus not as good as i thought they'd be. Agree with everyone in that it is GTA's twin bro, still a fun game to play if you're bored. Recruit hoe's, beat up other gang members, steal cars, run away from police, what male wouldnt enjoy this :p

I enjoyed the demo, I think where the game will shine is in the multiplayer, shame they never added a multiplayer lvl to the demo.

Ok completed it as well, very short demo. I guess I will reload it now and just roam around freestyle killing and stealing fo a bit.

Graphics are disappointing IMO and the tearing is there from the very beginning, from the cutscene where you walk past the dude selling watches. Very noticeable.

The controls are annoying when driving (Not using triggers to brake and speed up).

Apart from that OKish for a GTA clone. Just seems like the last GTA game in HD tbh, which isn't necessarily bad, but just another rehashed game for 360.

Can't see it selling that great unless the online aspect is gripping.

roll on sf2 tomorrow...

My Xbox 360 has so far crashed 3 times before i could even start to actually play the game. The furthest i got was the player customisation, which is actually a good feature. As for gameplay, i have no idea since my Xbox 360 is slowly dying. Microsoft seem to have forgotten about me as i have heard nothing after i rang them last Tuesday :(

I really really enjoyed it. Very much in the vein of GTA:SA but the physics give it a really nice element. Nothing like blowing up some cars with pipe bombs then watching debris like side mirrors and hub caps fly past you :D

I'll have to try getting the AK later ;)

uuf nasty wonder why all your 360 are crashing. :/

When you break barrier you can only go one way or it resets to old part of map in the barriers.

Does your 360 disconnect from xbox live when you play the demo mine does. ?
