Saints Row demo is up on marketplace

Exactly what I expected, and what I wanted although the tearing and fram erate problems are all too obvious and hopefully can be fixed before launch.

Dont like the controls when driving, what are the default controls for GTA on the Xbox?

Having had a proper go on the demo I can't say I'm too impressed. The gameplay suffers from frame rate issues aswell as the cut scenes. Pretty poor, and makes it harder to control the cars. I get the feeling this will be a more serious version of GTA and may make it boring. I can't see there being missions like burning a field of cannabis plants and getting high off the fumes or staling combine harvesters etc.

At the moment it's not on my to buy list.

i don't really notice any framerate issue's, their is plenty of games that do suffer from this but never noticed TBH with this demo, maybe cos i'm only using a smaller screen?, compared to those using 26" HDTV screens to my 17" TFT.

Didn't notice?

Normally dips in framerate don't bother me, but you need a trip to Specsavers if you didn't notice the poor frame rate in the demo ;)

Shouldn't really matter what size screen you play it on either.

Played this not sure about wheater i will buy it but certainly is good fun.

been through the demo on a couple of times on my 73" projected screen and seriously dont notice any framerate drops or tearing

Unplayable, no. Annoying, yes (and more noticeable than in any other 360 game I have played)

I was playing on the lowest resolution and I noticed frame rate problems.

I wonder if clearing the cache will help out? Some people said they were expierencing problems with LOTR on 360, but they cleared the cache and now the FPS issues have gone.

Unplayable, no. Annoying, yes. AND TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE ON FIXED SPEC HARDWARE!!!! Jeeeeez how many more times is this going to happen with 'next gen' 360 titles. NNNNG!

Seems ok to me and with the new GTA ages away I will be buying it (unless the next TDU demo is a lot better)

I'm not as concerned about the framerates as I am the fact that half the time when a car/person goes off screen they vanish off the face of the game :(

na, that crown goes to need for speed most wanted, terrible framerate in that game, this is nowhere near, and if there is tearing then that goes to Motogp 06.

to me i hardly notice in this demo and if released as such would be happy with it.

Strange, I played the whole of NFS without really being at all bothered by the framerate, didn't notice it dip much at all

As I said before, framerates don't normally tend to bother me. This demo though I found it very noticeable and off putting. If its not fixed I don't think I could play the whole game like it.

I'll give it another go later and see if I am just being picky, or if I still have the same opinion.

Just had another bash. Maybe I was being a bit picky, but it still does suffer from problems, especially when you turn a corner onto a new street.

Its the kind of thing I would expect on the Xbox or PS2 for this type of game, but not the 360.

it is indeed strange why 1 person is more supseptible to framerate problems over another, lol

I heard this is pre e3 demo and only using 1 of the cores?, so hopefully framerate problems have been fixed by now for those that are suffering.

But then you have to look at the fact that they're 'selling' their game with this demo and it's put a fair few people off it totally.

The original penned in release date was April 07 or thereabouts. As soon as GTA4 was dated at E3 they rushed it through obviously :(

All I know is, if the Dead Rising demo isn't awesome I may set fire to my 360.

Well, I finally tried it and here is my 2p.

- Story was a little forced.
- The whole gangsta/street style and voices was not as convincing as GTA VC.
- Graphics were good, but not great with a few minor FPS probs.

However, it was just a demo of a game that isn't due out for a while. Graphical tweaking and optimisations will still be on going I would have thought.

However, the main thing was it was a lot of fun, and now a game that stands a good chance of being purchased.

I liked the game, was good fun!

So what will the multiplier options hold? What do you do? Roam around and see other people on? That would be awesome

From what I've read there is no free roam online play. Theres DM, TDM, protect the pimp, and a couple of other modes. By the sounds of it, each of these has a set area to it.
