Sam Allardyce - Sacked as England manager amid corruption investigation

If he isn't sacked I'll be amazed, how on earth can he be alright after that video?

To be fair he shouldn't have been appointed in the 1st place.

The fact that he picked the same squad, except, did he not use Rashford(I've already forgotten). The performance was shocking, largely because he was being a giant girl and refusing to drop Rooney and don't forget his post game comments. Rooney picks where he wants to play, he stated openly that he doesn't have the experience to tell Rooney what he thinks is best for the team. He's already admitted he has zero control over Rooney and effectively with that statement told the team that if they are a big enough player they have power over the manager and not the other way around.

He should have been fired for that single performance that was dominated by a shocking Rooney followed by him stating that in effect, Rooney gets to control how the team plays not the manager.

Throw in being bent as hell and he should never have gotten near the managers job. Fat Sam is one of those with persistent rumours about dodgy deals going on, quite aside from the dire football his teams have produced throughout the years. Nothing in his entire career indicated a completely honest manager nor a good manager, how he got the job I don't know and since he's got it he's embarrassed himself with both team and outside the team issues.

Outside of bungs he supposedly took(which can't always be proven, as a bung can be an increase in a normal payment so it doesn't look shady), there were also many rumours about how he filled his teams with players his agent was also the agent for. This would allow him to effect transfers and wage negotiations from both sides. Lets say player A would only be offered 20k a week at other clubs, but Sam tells the agent they can afford 30k a week so tells the agent to demand 40k a week. The owners don't want to pay that but Sam then tells them how important and good he'll be so gets them up to 30k a week. So Sam has gotten the player 50% higher wages, the agent gets 50% more from his take home so maybe the agent offers Sam 5% off his agent fees for him, in effect giving him extra cash for screwing over his own clubs.

Again I'll say, nothing I ever saw from him suggested England manager and his response post game to a truly woeful performance just made it clear he's not a good manager.

I can't see the FA sacking him...i just can't. They're absolutely spineless.

they have to though to keep face, they were bleating on about Blatter and corruption in FIFA so they can't very well now say it's ok for them in the FA. Allardyce should be a dead man walking

Allardyce will go down as the David Nugent of England football managers if he gets binned off.

100% record.

(Nugent's goal wasn't remotely a 1 yard steal off Defoe either :p)

I think he'll be ok. He said and reiterated that he'd have to OK any deal with the 'powers that be', the 3rd party stuff was somewhat conversational, and the 'woy' stuff was embarrassing but not terminal.

Somewhat controversial? The FA's highest profile employee is advising people about how to get around 3rd party ownership, advising them to own the agent so they keep taking a cut of the player's contract and future sales beyond any initial deal.

As I saw somebody else say, it's the equivalent to Philip Hammond advising people how to get around HMRC tax laws.

Just watched the videos, absolute joke he's put himself in that position to begin with but to say the things he said. I'd be very surprised if he isn't gone, how can the FA possibly spin that one?

You just know he has done all sorts of dodgy **** behind the scenes as well.

If he's sacked the FA will probably rescue Moyes from Sunderland so I wouldn't crack out the champagne, there's not very many other washed up English managers left.

See the link to the panorama sting a few years back. He's no better than Redknapp.

As for how the FA can spin this - as I said in my last post. The England manager is openly advising people how to get around the FA's rules on 3rd party ownership.

Not sure who could replace him but it's not a matter of urgency, we should come through the qualifying games quite easily (as usual).

Agreed. And remember good old Steve Kean's comments too. :p

I meant how can they spin it to keep him on.

We don't mention that jokers name, thanks ;)

Joker is putting it politely.

Next manager odds:

  • Alan Pardew 3/1
  • Steve Bruce 6/1
  • Eddie Howe 8/1
  • Glenn Hoddle 10/1
  • Gareth Southgate 10/1
  • Jurgen Klinsmann 14/1
  • Alan Shearer 20/1
  • Arsene Wenger 22/1
  • Slaven Bilic 25/1
  • Roberto Mancini 25/1
  • Gary Neville 25/1
  • Harry Redknapp 25/1
  • Vincente Del Bosque 25/1
  • David Moyes 30/1
  • Claudio Ranieri 30/1

Anyone but Pardew, please god no. Not remotely keen on Southgate/Moyes/Bruce either.

Steve Bruce is outa work. :p

No...just...no lol seriously though it amazes me that high profile players/managers still get sucked into these traps, meeting up with people they hardly know and dropping themselves in the brown stuff by talking about potentially dodgy deals and bad mouthing others in football, do they not think people will secretly film them?

The people on that list fall into one of two categories. Those that you'd never want, and those that never would.
