Samsung Galaxy S... highest spec Android phone released... also with QWERTY!

I'm thinking of buying Beautiful Widgets but some reviews say it uses up the battery fast and is incorrectly reporting weather and locations etc. This isn't too common I guess? Plus I can't easily browse the 200 skins the tell you of. Just wondering if it is worth it

Its a good program if you are going to use them but you can find others free on net.

Just to give you the other side of the coin on 2.2 you have a choice on who reports the weather for you accur weather or google.

I think its great well the worth 1.50 or whatever it is

Just installed the new launcher pro update, but it's ruined it for me!

Keeps saying no room on this home screen (when there is NOTHING on there), anyone else having this?

Keeps force closing too now, helps!

Well it's upgrade time for me, and I'm more than happy to be moving from the Omnia HD to an android power lump of awesome.
I'm currently looking towards getting the galaxy s, but it's probably worth checking with all you guys who have the phone first. Basically, would you buy it again given the chance? Or would you go a different route?

I, too, would buy it again in a heartbeat. Even after seeing the latest offerings from HTC, I can still see myself being pulled towards buying the Galaxy S. Hell, I only bought it last week, and found myself between the SGS and the Desire.

Tricky.

I prefer the phone in every way over my wife's desire except gps performance.

Now gps works quite well but is slow to warm up and can generally get me a lock of +/- 10m but will occasionally throw me 20m+ off and can be as much as 50m out for the first 5 mins or so. The desire in the same situations will lock near instantly to +/- 2m.

Now I've read that a lot of these issues are solved in the upcoming 2.2 update but I have doubts it will ever be as good as the Desire.

In 2.2 its a lot better but still is not as good as some of the HTC phones.

Its better in every Way apart from that. The track ball issue is taken care of too. :)

Does anyone else have trouble accessing Hotmail on the default browser? It either takes ages or gives a server can't connect error. It works fine with Opera Mini but with the older version of hotmail

Ordered my Galaxy S now. £30pm, 300mins, ultd text, 500MB net, 18mth contract on Vodafone.

Pretty excited. Except I'm probably going to want to root to get rid of the usual VF bloatware, but I'm a bit nervous about doing it and invalidating my warranty on a brand new £450 phone...
