Samsung Galaxy S24 Family Thread

Funnily enough my screen is definitely duller then previous generations, I actually quite like it as it was ultra bright with vivid mode, I heard this was to do with the non reflective nature of the screen

Will see, mine definitely isn't colourless, but not sure if it's as good as it can be, not setup the phone without smartswitch so hard to tell.

I want natural looking without being silly vivid, same as when I get a TV or whatever.

Anyone else think they might be impacted by this?

I did a smartswitch from my old phone to this one, some people have reported that this causes the screen to be more dull/less bright than it should be.

My screen does look washed out and when I posted it on here was told it's because it's now more accurate. Which is fine but there is no difference when I switch between Vivid and Natural mode

To be honest I see absolutely no difference when switching between "Vivid" and "Natural" - I used smartswitch when migrating from my Pixel 7.

I noticed swapping between Vivid and Natural didn't seem to change anything, unlike previous devices where you could tell Vivid was over-saturated.

Natural on my S24U looks comparable to natural on my S22U which I'm used to though, so it's not really something that's bothering me personally.

This guy has rushed out an impromptu review on his new S24 to see what the battery on the Exynos is like. Not in depth - but gives a good insight....and it's looking like good news!

Saw people saying that the gallery looks right if you open images, but goes back to washed out if you close the image. Mine does do this.

I wonder if people who didn't do smart switch can validate if switching between vivid and natural changes anything, and if the gallery brightens up when you open images?

After 7 hours of screen on, the battery was 15%

Mixed app usage, 4G and it was still battery learning, not a bad result.

Caseology are a Spigen brand so should be fine!

Has anyone used the ESR screen protectors? They have a black edge which curves a little and am wondering if they'll be too big for a case.

The description says "just enough for a case" but don't want to waste putting one on and finding my Spigen ultra hybrid case causes it to lift!
I've got a pack of those and another pack of the Spigen ones to try again later after yesterday's failures to get them on without really abnormal amounts of fluff underneath!

I'm at 66% battery with just over 4 hours screen on time today.
Been messing around with it off and on, setting things up.
Screen resolution is set to highest, adaptive FPS on. Performance mode is set to full.

Already returned to Niagara launcher. I just can't cope with having pages and pages of apps to swipe through. So much quicker to find apps with Niagara!

@mrk you mentioned good lock, I see one in playstore and a different looking one in galaxy store

Can you please link the version you're using? And you said navstar is needed too, to make the nav bar appear over apps, maximising screen real estate?

Real shame you can't hide it entirely like on S23U and just use the gestures up from the bottom

Got mine delivered today. Not sure if should use Smart Switch to carry over everything from S23U, considering so many people seem to have screen issues...

It's unclear at this point to be honest if it's just the anti reflective screen and people are blaming smart switch

I haven't managed to find someone who has the issue and used smartswitch, then reset and did it without smartswitch to confirm it to be the problem.
