Samsung Galaxy S25 Family Thread

Yeah I get that but with companies pushing everyone to use their cloud storage solutions.

That said, I've ordered the 1TB s25 ultra coming from the 256gb s21 ultra as the the price was the same if i got 256gb model.

Sure but the other thing is the OS and app sizes are also growing massively, either way the cloud is no good with no signal.

Yep.same as why everyone apparently wants a thin phone not a bigger battery.

It's demonstrably the case, we've made small phones, phones with bigger batteries etc and nobody buys them. They buy massive screens and skinny phones. The market has spoken basically.

I'm not so sure.
The best phones are just skinny.
If Samsung made 2 identical phones one with a 5000 battery and one with a 7000 battery. I'd take the 7000 every time.

I think it's because so many people upgrade only when batteries get dire, having a small battery speeds this up

I can tell you, without fear of contradiction that that's not the case on a large scale.

You might choose that, not enough people do to make it a going concern.

Samsung will cheerfully make anything enough people would buy, they're not pushing an agenda. You seriously have never come across a less ideologically driven business. Enough of you want it? They'll make it.

Good news (so far) topcashback tracked at £55.75 which makes my phone a decent little deal at £315.09 :D

I finally caved in a moment ago and traded my s24 ultra 512 GB in for the s25 ultra 512 GB ;)

After discounts and the trade-in price, it comes to a grand total of £371.65

Fingers crossed it's the right decision!

So made my order yesterday morning using my £50 off code then last night Samsung email again saying the code is now £100....
I got this email too, didn't notice the increased value until you mentioned it. Samsung marketing is horrible, their offers can fluctuate so much.

People who ordered early for the Fold 6 got done over. When Samsung started giving out projectors, tablets and laptop after the pre-order period.

Haha yeah I signed up on 2 emails. First round main email got £100 and 2nd email address £50. Then yesterday both accounts got reminder emails with £100 now in each.

People should say how much they pay without the trade in. As that's the real cost of the phone.

I paid 599 for my s24u.
If I'd have got the s25u it probably would have been, what 800-900? With all the vouchers?

This is due to people's lack of knowledge and how to use the spen which is far superior to a finger when editing pictures for example , we just seem to be dumbing tech down to the lowest denominator now = "influence & selfie crowd"
Yeah, remember the days of the IR blaster and swappable batteries. Samsung used to have some great options in the early Note phones but gradually they are dwindling away!

Has anyone's order status moved on from 'Payment Accepted' ?

Mines still sitting as payment accepted too and not progressed to the order acknowledged phase yet.

Just curious about what phone cases/screen protectors people are using? I've decided to stay with the same flip-style wallet that I've been using for a while on my S10+, but unsure about the screen protector

Been looking at the tempered glass options, the Zagg one caught my eye - XTR4, but then reading up it advertises blue light filter, I'm not a fan of the look the screen when the blue light filter is enabled on the phone so hesitant to get a case with thay function built in

Next one that I've been looking at is Spigen GLAS.tR EZ Fit, I've def. Used Spigen cases before and I think I've used a screen protector from them before with no issued

Any other key brand screen protectors that are worth a look at?

People like to gloss over that fact to ease their pain. It's the equivalent of lube.

And you forgot to add yours is used/refurb

Yeah it's a refurb. But did say in other messages.
Its really unclear what a good deal is on s25u as some peoples phones are worth 600 and others 100 quid.

A good deal is whatever someone is willing to pay. Varies from person to person.

No point over thinking it.

Indeed, something is worth what someone wants to pay for it and all that.

I've probably been harsh myself but this isn't a bad phone, just incredibly underwhelming offering in terms of technological progress.
