Samsung Galaxy S25 Family Thread

Ordered the S25 Ultra on Sunday and now just found out my work are doing a good discount on the phone, how are Samsung for returns
They're fine for returns just don't open and use it. They changed their policy recently and they could charge you if you use the phone.

I made the classic mistake of going in store today to check out the S25 Ultra, let's just say there is one on pre order as a result!
I've had my S24 Ultra for around 12 months and it's been a great phone and I was going to keep it for another year but the S25 Ultra has pulled me in :)

Was debating whether to finally move on from my S10, was muttering to myself about it and whether to jump on the 15% off available via work portal along with various freebies and was then told in no uncertain terms - "get a new phone, your phone is ****ing ****, i can't even hear you talking when you phone me".

So that's an S25 on order :p

That’s good,so you just going to into your account and set up a return from there??
Going to order from my work and it will be with me Friday and trade my S24 ultra elsewhere

Ha snap! A fellow s10 user then! Been along time on this phone eh! How's your battery holding up, mine has really started to show its ages from nov/Dec, but 5 1/2 years may do that

My screen protector arrived today, case is with the royal mail, and I picked myself a type c to type c+3.5mm Jack so I can charge the new phone and listen to music, and yes I do indeed still listen to music on my phone with headphones at night.

Went with the Spigen Nano Pop for my ultra but can't decide on a tempered glass protector. Would usually go with a Whitestone Dome but can't find any in stock.

Yeah, it's not spectacular on battery life these days, usually needs a top up charge mid to late afternoon, depending on how much i've been using it.

Other than a slightly weak battery and apparently a dodgy call microphone, it still does absolutely everything I ask of it.

I'll be interested to see how much of a jump the S25 is, even moving from S10 to S25 with a near 6 year gap, i'm not convinced much significant has moved on in the phone arena outside of camera tech.

A slightly bigger but significantly lower resolution screen, though hopefully display quality is noticeably improved so the lower resolution and pixel density isn't too noticeable. Processing power will obviously be better but i'll be interested to see whether it's noticeable day to day, a bit more RAM obviously can't do any harm. Storage volume identical on both but S25 no longer expandable.

Actually, why did I bother? :p

Yeah batter is the biggest issue for me, as you say the rest of the phone still works fine, still having a headphone jack quite the bonus!

I'd say a 6 year jump is going to be noticeable (or am I just fooling myself lol)

I'm looking forward to a high refresh rate screen/adaptive screen, I finally got a high refresh rate screen on my desktop a few years back and it felt like a huge upgrade, I think that's going to be fairly noticeable on the phone too, also be nice to get updates back, will be interesting if thers any software elements that's been added in to the Samsung suite, could be one of those - you don't know what you don't know.

Few question s
1. Did any one get a free buds pro 3 or is that US only ?
2. Should the S25 ultra UK model not be cheaper considering its $1299 in the US.
3. Screen protectors, would having a screen protector negate the coating on the S25 ? and I assume non of te screen protectors would make a different compared to normal screen protectors.

I've ordered these and I'll put the links here to hold myself accountable just in case they are shocking :D ya never know.

Less than a tenner for the lot ;) far too many people are scared of aliexpress and the like but they've been excellent for me over the years.
would they even turn up before mid Feb considering its Chinese new year ?

1. Buds Pro 3 isn't available in the UK although I think a few upgraded via O2 and got them for £20 or so.
2. Remember US price doesn't include Sales Tax (which varies state to state) so its not a like for like comparison

Definitely noticeable in the overall "snappiness"
I went from the S10 lite to the S23, and there was a tangible improvement for sure...so definitely S10 to s25 would be a bigger jump.
If you play mobile games or something that's equally demanding, then this would see a more dramatic improvement

I noticed an appreciably better battery between my S23 ultra and S24. And an appreciably better camera between S22 ultra and S23.

So S10 to S25 will be massive unless you use it so little you ought to be getting a Doro.

I mean at 6 years you're not getting OS updates anymore and there will be apps that won't work properly no?

I think the S10 stopped getting OS updates early 2024, so it was indeed time to move on from that perspective but I can't say i've had any issues with apps not working or not installing.

Tempted to try a mous case this time round but that price point still has me thinking it's not for me. Never had an issues with a dropped phone so I guess im looking at something I don't need

1. Bud pro is available for sale just not for free. Yes, I did hear O2 are offering them.
2. Yes. you are tight I forgot about that.
