*** Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G Thread***

Thanks for the replies, I'm so torn as it's such an expensive phone/contract price.

With my emergency services discount I'm looking at £84 a month on a 24 month contract.

That's £1000 per year for a phone. I know it's great etc etc, but do you need it that much? Your emergency services discount doesn't seem particularly generous either, so if you've got the itch, at least wait till black friday and maybe save a few hundred over the contract term. If Samsung drop the price, buy it interest free on the upgrade program and then add a sim-only plan.

Thanks, good points made there.

I definitely don't need it, I just fancy being an early adopter and having something different. That's a good shout to wait for Black Friday, see if any further discounts appear. The discount I mentioned is 20%, which I think is reasonable (for an unlimited, 5G contract)

Also remember that EE will hit you with a CPI + 3.9% rise in April next year and another similar rise the year after that. With CPI being 1.5% (iirc), your £84 contract will be £88.50 from April 2021 and £93.30 from April 2022. If you don't need unlimited data and you can't get 5G in your area, those are not benefits, they're things you're paying for needlessly.

Some pics from the Fold.

Pit stop today on the way home from work to admire the Sunset. ( Could have down with more megapixels on the main sensor).

Still, the Fold is the Swiss army knife of phones in my opinion.

Great shots! I've noticed you buy a lot of phones, even ones others wouldn't be that interested in such as Huawei with the lack of Google services. Just an interest of yours or are you a reviewer?

Thanks. No not a reviewer, just for personal usage.

I'm a sucker for a new device although I try to find something that 'clicks' with me. I keep a few phones which I have some attachment too but most get resold to purchase others.

Used to be video games in the 90s, arcade gear after that for instance, If It wasn't smartphones it'd be something else. :)

Honestly, the amount of money I spend on gadgets. I have two PS4 games still sat in their plastic wrapping (good games such as FFVII remake and The Last of Us Part II) as I never get around to playing my PS4 much. Still ordered a PS5 though :p

Lol, I know the feeling. Last rumage through some cupboards I found sealed Japanese copies of Vagrant Story, Pocket fighters Ridge Racer and Halo lying about somewhere.

Magpies :)

Just being new out of box, that it's expensive new thing lol.
Okay removed it. Screen just doubled in sharpness lol.
Another thing. I've always used Niva Launcher, but does Samsung One allow for separate screen sutimation icons etc. Niva just does that upscaling of the front screen.

Would someone mind posting some images displaying Microsoft (Outlook, Teams ideally) and perhaps other popular apps on both the outer and inner screens please? I can't seem to find any sort of app showcase online and I'm interested to know how well Microsoft as a partner has integrated their apps to the unusual aspect ratio's.

Thanks in advance

Still the best camera phone in good light!

I'm still too chicken to take the main screen protector off but my curiosity is growing...

I did get a "thin fit" spigen case though. It's not bad but there's no getting around the fact that cases make the phone bigger and it adds about 1mm to every dimension - my only real complaint is that the inner edges of both parts of the case could do with being chamfered - they're surprisingly angular and make the phone somewhat uncomfortable to hold when it's closed.
