*** Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G Thread***

Decided to go for it and trade in my note 4 for £150 off. Iv had a few phones since the note 4 such as the Iphone 10. Note 9 ect but they all went back as they just didn't really feel that interesting to me. Quite excited about the fold 2 as it feels like a real evolution of the smart phone technology and it looks great from the early reviewer impressions.

I'm glad someone has given it a go. I get the vibe that lots are excited by it but all a bit scared to pull the trigger on one.

I'm still tempted but keep talking myself out of it :D

I'm still teetering on the edge of ordering. I think I would like to handle one in person, hopefully some display units make their way to stores in the near future.

Well i cancelled my order as i tryed a 10% off friend referal link from reddit and it worked lol. So i managed to get the £150 trade in off and another £164.90 off bringing the total to £1484. Definatly happy with that lol.

Here is the referal coupon code.

Didnt seem to work at first with the trade in applied aswell as it would cancel out the code but then it worked and i got the full discount.

You need to stop finding ways to lower that price, I'm showing strong signs of resilience and you're not helping lol.

It's looks like one of the best, most interesting devices in a log while so looking forward to hearing peeps thoughts when they arrive.

I shouldn't have visited this thread...that discount has pushed me over the edge and I've ordered one :(

Plus Topcashback 4.25% cashback (£63).

Update: I ordered the black but only realised the back is shiny and not matt like the bronze. The referral code is 1 time use per email address, had to use a different email address for it to work again.

Topcashback giving 4.25% cashback (£50) so hopefully that comes through.

I went for the bronze too. Mostly because i always choose black and love the bronze colour. It being Matte certainly helps too.

Saw a review on this

Most of the apps seemed to show more content on the front screen.

What purpose would you use the big screen for? I'm curious as I can't really think she anyone would want this?

Its pretty straight forward. Think of a tablet compared to a phone. Larger screen experiance....better for multitasking and the apps that are optimized for the fold look fantastic to use on the large inside screen. Big screen videos/gaming. Then if you want to switch back to a standard phone screen you have the outside screen.

I don't think I've wanted a piece of technology as much as I want one of these, nor have I been in such a bad financial position so that I can't afford one. Damn you covid 19!

Got a £600 trade in for my iphone 11 pro max + Topcashback 5% cashback + 10% off with LJUIJFSII8

£650 is about the going rate for an 11 Pro Max 64gb from a variety of reputable resellers, assuming it's in good nick. If those 5pc and 10pc reductions are on the post-tradein value, you're even worse off.

Anyone know of any other referral code that works? Been trying to use LJUIFSII8 but it keeps saying it's been redeemed or invalid coupon.

Here, use mine

**REMOVED**

Codes can only be redeemed 10 times

I'm still in 2 minds which colour to go for. Currently on the bronze after cancelling the black...but worried the bronze could look too pink

Legend, bless you mate. It worked. Managed to pre-order the Black, was also troubled for past few days trying to decide between Bronze and Black. For sure I'll be putting a case on this (eyeing, or rather waiting for the Spigen Ultra Hybrid). With a black case there'd be a bit of contrast with the Bronze camera block and spine which admittedly could look trendy, but alas I decided to go with the tried and tested all-black that I've been on since the first Nokia I owned.

Also, I'm coming from an iPhone XS Max and the many iterations since iPhone 3G - yes, a Switcher - as someone said before this is the Android phone that finally got me excited enough to draw me away, aside from the push factor of Apple hardware severely lacking in any innovation of late, and yet asking ever more astronomical prices (iOS though is a joy to use).

Of note, I traded in an iPhone 4 8GB and got £150 off (on top of the 10% off). Initially I went under Apple-"any other models" and it presented a £75 trade-in value. But then I noticed there is a 'Broken Device' category with trade-in value at £150. Ticked that instead, popped in the IMEI and it was accepted. Interestingly the Trade-In Policy terms say broken devices will be given £75 but then system wise it's valued at £150. I even initiated a chat with Samsung on video call if that makes sense, the guy said if IMEI is accepted go ahead with that! So I did and am wondering if i should just dunk the iPhone 4 in water before dispatching it off. All in all, the costs came to $1484.10 and Topcashback has tracked £63.07 bringing net price to £1421.03.

U-turn this morning, realisation this much money could be put to better use. ( thinking 4k projector ..hmm )

Gonna have sell one of these devices I've got coming.

** referral codes are not permitted **

Btw, I found a live code on twitter if any of them in this forum are invalid.

That wouldn't be wise, if you read the conditions of a broken phone
  • Phone powers on and holds charge
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Functioning display and no cracks in the screen
Which is weird, as your broken phone can't be broken. I traded in my very old HTC One for £150, it has a custom ROM but the T&Cs doesn't say anything about that. But in the end I doubt Samsung cares that much, they can afford to give these extra discounts.
