The article actually talks about the Samsung Gear, Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo, Gear S, and Gear Fit, not the Galaxy Watch (or the Galaxy Watch Active).
Phew. That's good then!

Initial thoughts:
Pros:
- the main screen is stunningly beautiful, especially with full screen 4K content/apps
- multifunctional
-it’s the future
Cons:
- it’s heavy and a bit cumbersome to use when open - slips easily. Pocket presence can really be felt.
- not a fan of the narrow front screen
- worried about pocket lint - any past experience?
Overall, it’s very impressive.
I disagree tbh it's a watch not a phone so shouldn't need updating.. A watch should be useable for it's life span physically not dependant on software.

Its amazing for video, you don't notice crease, most noticeable when screen is off. What’s it like watching Netflix / Amazon etc? Is the fold in the screen really noticeable on movies?
Beach I can completely understand but pocket lint will be an issue and having to wipe it down sounds like a pain. Dust resistance would have been the icing on the cake.I don't baby mine, its in and out of my pocket loads without any issues. But I do try and wipe down the hinge before opening if I can, just incase. But with that said I wouldn't take it to the beach.

Any Vodafone people seen any movement yet? I know a few other carriers have started shipping, wish Vodafone were more proactive!
So after a couple of days of using this here's my early thoughts..
Really impressive piece of tech, feels very well built. Feels great in the hand.
The displays are great, front display is a bit unusual to use and can be tricky to type on at first, one hand use is a stretch though. Opening it up for first time the main screen is a revelation, really does 'wow' the first time I opened up Instagram, Chrome, YouTube etc. The centre crease is noticable more so when the screen is off. Once in use it doesn't bother.
Camera is ok to good, typical Samsung style photos though. I think the general feeling is for a £1700 device it should have the very top spec cameras on board, I can see why that would bother some people and sway them off.
Things that I don't like (so far).. Nothing actually, albeit my job, I'm a HGV Tech. Harsh, dirty environment, tough on phones. Really am worried this isn't the ideal phone for me workwise. I've ordered a Spigen tough case, so to protect the hinge from dust/dirt etc. As much as I look after my phones, I can't have a diva in my pocket!
Anyway, here are some images of it and some test photos too.

Have any of you got a sense of what the battery life is like yet or is it too early to say?
Too early to tell really. I'm on my third charge, was down to 15% after 24 hours first and 18% 23.5 hours on second. Currerntly at 50% after 11 hours 10 mins and 3 hours SoT.
The software is still 'learning usage patterns', what with, downloading apps and setting up the phone on the first day, really need a few weeks after the initial tinker period to get a true picture of how the battery will perform.
3 Hours SoT at 50% so on average 6 Hours Sot full battery . I'd be happy with that.
