Samsung Green Ram

Hi 8Pack,

Just bought some 16gb samsung green ram. My system spec is in my sig. What settings should i use to get it running at 2133? Will i need to increase any bios settings like VCCIO? Currently i have it at 1.0000, default it 1.0500 i think. Anything i should be aware of ? I'll go as high as 1.5v ideally.

I like to stay within safe sandybridge values.

Thats safe though in my eyes!!! Many XMP where certified by Intel at 1.65v.

I have 50 at least SB boxes in servers world wide with the RAM at 1.75v for 2 years and 5ghz overclocks all fine.

Also I have several Sandy I have hammered myself and they are all fine with 1.9v through the RAM.

Yes its my opinion but an educated one built from overclocking a lot of SB with memory clocking on em too.

Its your call though. You want 1.5 I will put come in and test.

I will push it further when going for benches of course. But my 24/7 gaming speed id want at 2133 CL10 @1.5v if possible. I'm just unsure if id need to increase VCCIO or not bearing in mind id be using 16gb.

Yeah you probably will need to inc VCCIO a touch to between 1.075 and 1.1v.

Go 10-12-12-25 1T first up and see how that goes If all is OK go 10-11-11-21 1T. PLL test 1.9 and 1.55 see which end works.

Pll? Hmm i didn't even think about that. At my current 24/7 settings i have Pll at 1.6 volts with my cpu @4.5ghz.

At 5ghz i think i have it (pll) at 1.75v.

Test its effect mate. Each CPU is different.

Let me know how you get on clocking the Sammy Green Matt. Haven't installed mine yet. Will most likely need some help though.

Out of curiosity, why did you get 16gb?

youll do 8gb on 1.55v but 16gb will need more dram v

currently running 8gb @2133mhz 9-11-11-21-1t and 96 trfc

Hmm i probably should have just got 8 gig. I guess ill have to see how i get on. I really want 2133 CL10. If i can't get that ill have to weigh up my options.

it depends what board your using,on my asus z68 I can do cas 10 no trouble but not on my gigabyte z77

Wazza which Giga is it??? I can try and see whats possible with Sammy 8g and Z77 Giga.

It's the z77x up4 th,they have improved the bios's to support this ram but Idk what other giga boards it applies to

I can do 2200mhz same timings/voltages but read/write/copy figures tend to drop off

hmmm could be a setting under the hood or a sub timing causing the drop in figures.

Ok 8Pack it arrived.

I have it runnuing at 2133 @1.5v. Everything else is on auto voltage wise. So pll is 1.8, VCCIO is at 1.050v.

Here is my cpu-z.

What tests/benchmarks should i run to ensure its running at optimum speed and not losing performance?
