Samsung Green Ram

Right well the tests kept failing so it wasn't stable. :D

It seems that the days of me running 1.6 pll are long gone. I managed to complete the 32mb test with these settings.

2133 - 1.5v - PLL 1.825 - VVCIO 1.1V - 11-11-11-28-2

VCCIO i think i can probably lower but im leaving it at 1.1 for now as im sure the little extra voltage won't hurt. Test failed with PLL at 1.8 or lower.

Any suggestions for what to do next 8pack? I think if i lower timings PLL might have to be increase more. CPU is at 4.5ghz for the moment.

here's a 32m run for ya, no idea if its any good, never run it!!

Thanks Nick. What speed was your ram at and timings etc? I notice my first test is always just over 5 seconds.

I coped 8Pack's suggested timings from above. I got it to pass the 32mb test at

2133 - 1.55v - PLL -1.875v - 10-12-12-25-1T - VCCIO - 1.1v

I guess i will try to lower the timings now to 10-11-11-21-1T as suggested by 8Pack.

not gonna be much help to you i'm afraid as i'm not on sammy's, mines running 10-12-11-31 1T @2.4
just posted pic so you have a gauge, i should imagine once you have them sorted, 7m 30s as a rough guide for yours

I'm running my 8GB Samsung Green at the following:

2500k @ 4.6ghz ~ 1.35v load
PLL: 1.8v (PLL Overvoltage enabled)
VTT: 1.1v
vDimm: 1.65v

RAM running at 2133mhz @ 9-10-10-21-1T 88 TRFC. Can't go higher on my Z68 :(

Never have tried tweaking PLL on my chip. This would pass Super Pi fine @ 1.63v vDimm but needed a bump to 1.65v to pass memtest (test 5 was usually the hardest to pass)

Maybe its because i have 16gb and all ram slots full Pauly that need higher PLL. 8Pack even suggested starting off with 1.9 which surprised me. But hes right. At 2133 with more relaxed timings i could keep PLL at 1.825 but running at 10-11-11-21-1T i need 1.9.

2133 - 10-11-11-21-1T - 1.55v - 1.90625 PLL - 1.075 VVCIO - CPU @4.5ghz

1.95 is about top PLL for Sandy on Ambient cooling.

Your doing reasonably well with this now mate. Keep going.

Thanks. :)

Do you think its worth me going any further? I don't want to mess about with BLK as it limits my GPU overclock at 1300 core +.

I could try to lower the timings more maybe, any suggestions? Is 10-10-10 a realistic possibility? Also there are a load of other memory timings in bios all on auto. Should i leave them like that?

^^ you might need more dram v for cas 10,just depends on your boards bios and cpu's imc,

as for high ram speeds I find it helps in games

Thanks. I'm quite happy to stick now with where im at, but if i can get a bit more from the timings im happy to keep going. Really don't want to exceed safe maximum values on voltage though as im currently setting up my 24/7 speed. Once this is all set i will move up to my benchmark settings which will see the cpu at 5.0ghz minimum.
