Samsung i7500 (Android)

Ok will do.. just setting it up now. I dont think the PC studio likes windows 7 so far :(

EDIT:
First thing i'd say is that it doesnt feel as heavy and so solid like the Hero. Its pretty light.

If you have questions I can answer them. I'll do the mini review once i get the stupid thing synced!

By the way DONT upgrade the firmware its got issues! Mine wont sync/connect to the PC suite anymore because of it (others are having the same problem).

If initially you are having issues getting the phone to connect to the PC SUite, try connecting in USB debug mode, it worked for me the first time I connected..

Mine seems to have come with the latest PC suite. It says there's 'no updates' for the suite. I managed to install all the drivers except one. Can you tell me what drivers you see installed on your computer?

I have:

(Modems) SAMSUNS Mobile Modem
(COMPORTS) Samsung Mobile Modem Diagnostic Port (WDM) COM4
(Universal Serial Bus Controllers) SAMSUNG USB Composite Device

And then I have one unknown device.

(I'm on windows 7)

There are no updates for the suite itself but there are for the phone.

I think had that same problem I think until I plugged it in on USB Debug mode (Settings> Applications>Development) give it a try if you are having problems connecting to the suite. Can you see the i7500 in addition to the 2 disks shown on the PC Suite 'desktop'?

I have all 3 of those installed cant see anything additional which is strange.

Yeah i turned on debug mode. Then I do a search and I see:

GT-i7500 (connected)
Android (connected)
Android (1) (connected)
Communication Port 1 (Com1)
Samsung Mobile Diagnostic Serial (WDM) (COM4)

If I try to connect to the diagnostic port, it tries to connect then says there's nothing connected

If I double click the i7500 icon on the main sync window it pops up some box, then says 'not supported'

Thats exactly what I get. (Post firmware update) perhaps yours is already updated?
I havent used the software anyway, just synced to gmail. Its a bit annoying though, apparently Samsung are blaming Android and Android vice versa.

Hmm just checked for an update...

Current version I7500VIAIFE
Update version I7500VIAIG6

I might as well update it, since it doesnt work anyway!

btw, any sugestions on what i should setup/install on it. Apps etc?

Dont say I didnt warn you, it restarts randomly, I wouldnt do it. Other users have reported this problem..

The Market is awesome, so, so many apps I listed a few here:

How does it compare speedwise to the Hero by the way?

How does it compare speedwise to the Hero by the way?

Sorry missed that bit :)

It seems just as fast to me. I havnt had any lags etc yet. But then the HTC has their UI stuff on top. I'm just going to get it setup and then i'll try them side by side. If anyone has anything in particular they'd like me to try/compare please let me know!

I'll also try to take a pic of them side by side so you can get an idea of the difference in the screens.
