** SAMSUNG & OcUK CARTEL: FREESYNC & MORE CURVED DISPLAYS!! **

Anyone know how low these go....in freesync terms...40hz?

Some say 30Hz but even the user manual (final) does not mention it.

Here is the link to final version of the U28E590DS user manual. (Right click on the "Here" and save as... because sometimes the pdf link just creates havoc.)

Wait im confused by the U32E850R...

Features:
- Fast 1ms Response Time: See even the fastest on-screen motion clearly without any motion blur, judder or ghosting
Upgraded HDMI Support: With an upgraded HDMI that supports UHD resolutions at a 60Hz refresh rate, 4K content plays smoothly without delay, even when connected to AV devices.
- Quad Interface: Provides seamless connectivity with your PC and AV equipment with 2 different HDMI ports, DisplayPort 1.2, and Mini DisplayPort (also supports Thunderbolt).

Then in the specification:
- Resolution: 3840x2160 (Only over DisplayPort at 60Hz)
- Response Time: 4ms (GTG)
- Connectivity: 1x HDMI (30Hz), 1x DisplayPort (60Hz)

32" 4k and not an Acer :) if these don't have the ghosting that's being mentioned with the current freesync monitors then I'll be in for one plus 390x

Does anyone think getting a 4K screen when your going to have to drop res in games to get ok FPS is worth it just for the few games you will be able to run full res?

Would 1080p look really bad on the 24inch version?

Currently game at 2560x1600 using a pair of watercooled and overclocked 290x... So it wont be that much of a drop for me ;)

I thought it would be a while before monitors came along that could tempt me away form the Philips 40 inch, but seeing what is coming soon/has come, it may not be long at all.

The (near) perfect monitor is still not announced, but with the 144hz ultra-wides from Acer, and freesync PLS/IPS screens.... Ideally I'd want >34 inch ultra wide with >=120hz, and preferably 5120 x 2160, or alternatively a 16:9 4k at 36 inch or above with freesync and >=120hz.

Just feels like things are adding up to make that possible long before I thought.

Am I the only one who thinks 24 inches is too small for a curved screen? I feel like you only really get the benefit with them in larger sizes.

I would think they would be brilliant for a multi-monitor setup.

24 inch is great size for multi-monitor, and when I had 3x24 inch would have loved them curved.

But while 24 inch multi was great for gaming, it wasn't great for me in other uses, and 27 inch was too big for gaming in multi-monitor (IMO)

No you're not the only one. I am quite curious about what sort of benefit to expect from a gently curved 24" screen (even a 27" one for that matter). I am more interested in how it performs as there is something of a lack of 'good' 24" VA models at the moment.
