Samsung sneaks out snazzy 3G iPhone rival... the Omnia.

Right I just rang O2 again and as a result of my "frustration" at being messed about with dates from O2 and other sources, they just enhanced my deal and reduced my tariff from £35 per month to £20!! Cheers! They also said I can have unlimited internet when the omnia is finally released and I upgrade to the omnia! (insisted this was added to my account notes, but the O2 operator just said "ah I'll just add it to your tariff now!") Sweeeet!

I just spoke to someone at orange and he thinks it's going to be 2-4 weeks before it's released on orange. They don't have any information about prices and couldn't tell me if I'd get a free upgrade (paying £35/month). Pretty useless really seeing as it's only a few weeks off and possibly available on other networks sooner!
 
went to phones 4 u today, guy said it was on his system to sell but he didnt have any instock.

didnt know when stock would come in either.
 
I just asked in carphone warehouse.

He said they are releasing it THIS WEEK. He said their warehouses have it all in stock already and they are just waiting for their stores to take delivery.

Didn't go into details about pricing and networks tho.

does he not mean next week? If not then it must be in today or tomorrow?
 
The chap i speak to in carphone seems to know his phones. When i asked when the "i900" is due out he said "ahh Omnia". Most people don't even know that!

He come straight out and told me its due this week, as i was leaving the shop i could hear him chatting about "Omnia". My guess is he's wanting to buy it to :D

EDIT - True, maybe he means the coming week, forgot its Friday today.

o2 wont give a flying toss about their current customers now they have the iPhone.

I am with o2, but more than willing to move to another oporator to get the Omnia as asoon as its out.
 
I would be happy with either - but it does seem they are happy pushing the iphone and thats it.

Reading around there is a high possibility that even on retentions they are making people pay more for the phones, discounting them only on really high tarrifs.


Would seem I may have to move to another to get this or the diamond.
