Samsung sneaks out snazzy 3G iPhone rival... the Omnia.

F700, but it has a keyboard so it's considerably larger.

It'll only be worth getting if they've drastically improved the interface from the F700, which I have - it would be a reasonable competitor to the original iPhone but it's just not smooth or intuitive. I'm not too confident that this will be much better.

For me it's only going to be a go' er if it's got a decent GPS chipset i.e Sirf lll or better. Then I might go for it in preference to the XDA Orbit 2.
The more I look at this phone the more I can't help thinknig that the resolution could have really been improved to at least 480 x 272.
I think Samsung really missed a trick there, the phone has everything else you could wish for, and a higher res would do wonders for browsing and office tasks. WHy is it the perfect phone doesn't exist... there's always at least one glaring flaw or niggle.

This looks much better I think and has all the features I want, including a decent camera.
I just hope the os is reasonably snappy . . .
And its due in July so not long til this baby comes out.

I'm liking it more and more as I see it, I reckon I'll have a few issues getting used to using predictive text though as I've always just used non-T9 texting but that isn't enough to put me off it.

I found an awesome little vid on Youtube of the Omnia, showing in detail the interface etc. I have to say for a WM device this looks VERY responsive... and the Samsung Touchwiz looks like an intuitive and uncomplicated little system!
