SAPPHIRE 5770 VAPOR-X 1024MB £126.99

Does anyone know how this card performs with MW2 on PC, or Mass Effect,Prototype, high end games etc?

Runs them fine, I play MW2 online 1920 x 1200 will everything full.

Also my 4870 512 played all those games, so the 5770 should do as well, although the 5770 isn't a massive improvement, but the card runs quieter and I believe draws less power.

If I buy 3 any chance of getting a copy of Dirt 2 got then in my shopping basket just need that little push :)
I want to CrossFireX the 3

If you order the three parts I will get you a Dirt 2 e-mail me your order number and I will walk it through for you :)

Would i see a benefit of ordering one of these compared to my 4850x2 1gb version.

At the moment it is running standard clock but It sounds like an aircraft about to take off.

Fatboy,

As you can see earlier on in this thread I said I plan on getting a 5770 next month.

I have seen early reports from some people saying the 5770 cards don't work with PCI-E version one. Can you please advice?

I take it you are reffering to either a 4x or an 8 x Slot ? What motherboard do you have ?

Just got of the phone to OcUK.

It turns out that they have just recieved a message from ATI reguarding this issue. ATI have just admitted that the card will only run properly on motherboards with PCI-E 2. Older motherboards using PCI-E 1 will not work properly, despite the system requirements not stating this. ATI have effectively miss-sold this product to all producers of the HD5770. The engineer from OcUK stated that allthough a new batch will be brought out soon to resolve this issue, they will not RMA the card as they will test it on Mobo's using PCI-E 2 only.

Any attempts to get a refund from ATI will be passed on to the companys that produced the cards, leaving it to them to decide wether to refund their customers.

I'm appauled that this is acceptable practice for a reputable hardware producer.

Edit: Atis fault, no oc :) although the card does indeed state pci 2...

I assume from what i've read, my p35 can't use these cards :( x38 was the first 2.0 chipset from intell :(

So if you don't have a PCI 2 port only a version 1, does that mean the card wont work at all, or just at a reduced performance ? I'm looking to upgrade my computer in stages and this was going to be the first part. That plan might have to change if it won't run at all.

I've got a thread in the Graphics Card section and there is a lot of people with P35 boards (PCI-E version 1) who run the 5770 fine. It appears to be a nforce chipset and Ati chipset problem (motherboards with onboard gfx)
