SAPPHIRE 5870 VAPOR X, SAPPHIRE 5850 & SAPPHIRE DISPLAY PORT ADAPTER

i have a fairly noisy fanfilled box

i cant hear the vapor-x fan @60% full speed...it gets pretty high pitched/noisy above 60%, in my opinion.

i didnt do my research very well, a bit disappointed about the lack of over voltage, but then again...i may very well have fried the card...ill be happy with whatever oc it gives me on stock volts

I think you will find it to be perfectly good performance wise + quiet. Mines great.

what is the advantage of the Saphire 5870 Vapor X over the standard ATI RADEON HD 5870 ?

I really want to get the ultima vanquish system but can see that the Saphire 5870 Vapor X is no longer an graphics option ??

Am i going to notice that much difference between the vapor x and the standard 5870 option that is now available?

If so, ill wait till back in stock before purchasing the system

Thanks

The Vapor X is quiter and quicker with an overclock on it. If you want to add one to a Vanquish this will be no problem but you will have to call sales to get this added on to the build for you.

I have the Vapor X 5870. One issue is that the voltage cannot be modified on the new rev 2 PCB. I tried, even with flashing the card, voltage changes through MSI afterburner cannot be done. Max OC that's stable is 900/1300 from 875/1250

Just thought I would mention it

But, my idle temps never go above 35degC with 21% default fans (I have two crossfired)
