This has got to be close to the best graphics card deal ever. :D

Very well done Gibbo.

Hi there

Yes it is a good deal and from looking at US sites the pricing actually varies from $210 - $230 so our price is pretty good in respect to that. :)

Where we can OcUK will try to go that bit further by offering guides such as this to those who are willing to take the risk of modding their hardware. :)

Looks like i may be ordering one of these things today.
but im a bit worryed, there is no garantee

i already have a X800 Pro overclocked to 580core/555memory
with its 12 pipes becuse unlocking the others gives artifacts in 3d games lol

but seriously if i get this card im hopeing i can get X850XTPE speeds and pipes
otherwize it all could end up a big big flop :(

also going to have to change my NEO 2 Plat 939 board to one that is PCI express for this card but i guess thats a good future proof update becuse AGP are being Fazed out lol

but dam i dont know what to do. :p

The talk on the web is that so far these cards have been 100% unlockable & overclockable to X850XT PE speeds, so maybe not so much of a gamble.
Even unlocking all 16 pipes gives a great improvement & for the price you cant go wrong. Ill be switching to PCI-E because of this card.

damn, now $199 OEM in the US. even more wish i lived in the US. But if they are pretty much 100% unlockable, as St0rmer66 says still cheaper than a real X850XTPE so might just have to get me credit card out.

US pricing is $210 as already mentioned. The dollar rate is falling so at the moment that translates to £120 +Shipping and +taxes and if anything goes wrong then your in big trouble.

From what i have heard tho buying from the US would probably just be as troublesome as buying from here ...

Altho saying that with all of my purchases i have never had the need to return anything :p

But damn you are lucky to get exclusivity on these, i have heard so many good things about these. Altho a lot of the GTOs use the R480 cores, so it could well be possible that other brands are unlockable in a similar fashion.

Why is the GTO2 available, and what advantagaes does it have over a stock GTO other than guaranteed overclocking to a certain level?

Ian

From the 3DMark05 score above, if you do manage to modify to 16 pipe and clock to X850XT PE speeds its still appears to be slower than the Asus X800XTPE AGP that i just recently purchased when the deal was on. The table posted above shows around 6041 in 05, i get 6205 with my X800XTPE stock. It may be cheaper for some just to stick with AGP at the moment rather than jumping to PCI-E and purchasing one of these.

Other factors account for 3dmark scores aswell such as processor used and amout of ram.

Either way there won't be much difference between the card you have and this one and either way the one is agp and the other is pci-e.

That made me feel better ! LOL just spent £230 from OCUK today for that Asus card.

Glad you are getting this in, however: "Sapphire GTO² available exclusively from OcUK" it's not exclusive to OcUK. :)

Not sure what to do now, get this or get a cheap 7800GT .

Hey gibbo. One of my mates want to buy this card but he has a question for you.

"Would you replace the card if the bios flash didn't go too well or if it doesn't work after flash?"

I told him "NO", As that isn't covered in warrenty. Am i right?

I'm pretty sure this answers your question:

Note: Overclockers UK does not guarantee modability or overclocking on these cards and flashing of the bios does invalidate your warranty with Overclockers UK. Though those in the know realise that these cards all do modify to 16 pipelines and overclock to X850 XT and higher speeds easily.

if you do mess up just send it back to sapphire.. there warranty is 2 years on most cards.

can i ask when there comming in got one ordered but having to use the kids pc atm when there not on it and getting withdrawals.....:)
