I frickin' hope my boot cd works. I burned mine with Nero 6.X, and I used my last remaining CDR!!!!!

Shidojin, what processor do you have? I'm on SKT 754, and I have ordered the Gigabyte K8NE, less than 60 quid and not toooooooo bad... Passively cooled Northbridge, so no more whiney little fans for me!!!!

woot, just got round to modding mine, but i used burnatonce, worked a treat, the card flashed first time, i messed up with changing the drivers but its working now, gonna run 3dmark05

Just a quick word of thanks. Used your cd image after having a lot of problems with the floppy. Worked a treat. You saved me a lot of frustration. Riva tuner shows 16 lovely pipes. Previously had a 9800se which soft modded to pro and beyond.
Havent tried o/cing it yet but am confident of xtpe speeds. Am gonna try o/cing my cpu first. Anyone using an AMD 64 3200 venice? If so what sort of overclocks are you getting.

3200 Venice
1 gig ddr 400
200 gig HDD
NEC 2510
Sapphire GTO @ x850XTPE
Generic PSU
Reckon my PSU will have to be next to bit the dust.

I would suggest changing your powersupply before overclocking your processor. Generic PSU's don't normally hold up well when it comes to overclocking and you are likely to get on a lot better with solid rails going to the various components.

Is there a general consensus on if you should have the latest drivers installed or not before you do the mod? Like others, I want to test that my card actually works before I muck around with it, but I've heard some people had problems when they had installed the drivers before doing the mod (Windows not happy with the card change, not recognising card, screwing up the registry etc.). I'm happy to ake the risk if enough people have done the mod after installing the drivers, so feel free to put my mind at rest

I loaded the drivers to test the card before doing anything to it.
The flashed it & it just worked with the original driver install. Didn't have to uninstall or reload them or anything.

socket 754 3000+, the motherboard im looking at is an Asus K8N4-E Deluxe nForce4 4X

Since i got this card it has worked very well, but i am unable to install cat 5.9's. I have no problem with 5.10's so the card works fine just wondered if anyone else had the same problem?

Help me out here.
Im looking at the techpowerup webpage in the link, and it says quite clearly, that the £30 cheaper powercolor x800 gto cards are unlockable in the same way.
Why would i go the sapahire route over the power color one, or is it simply a percentage game, with the saphire ones being 100% unlockable and the powercolor ones mabye not?
Or has nobody seen the bit about the powercolor card?
Ill apologise if this has already been mentioned in the thread.

Im pretty sure they are talking about connect3d gto's but if they mention powercolor too then I guess you cant go wrong.
