Wise choice, a very nice PSU, and incredible value. The Socket 939 Opteron 144 would destroy the other CPU's by a considerable margin, esp when o/c'ed.

I doubt the mobo will affect the ability of the card to overclock (although benchmark scores will vary slightly), I get the same core/mem speeds with my Socket 754 rig as I did with my Socket A rig using the same 6800nu.

im sure he said they are limited, they even have limited edition writton on the cooler lol, id buy it now while you can, just to be safe

No, i had problems with my GTO2 so i returned it and decided to splash out and get the 7800 GT 256mb!!! I don't change the graphics card often so it should be great for quite a while!

Yeah, you did the right thing there then. What were your problems with the card???? I have one of these arriving Monday. I bet you're running about the house now trying desperately to avoid flying vases and books etc...

Hehehehehe.

Every game i tried the pc would freeze at the very start of the loading of the game!! All my components were new. See sig below.

I have posted on here exactly what i had tried to overcome the problem but no joy i am afraid! So, in the end i decided to send it back.

Anyone got a bullet proof vest?

Back onto x80GTO2 matters.

I've just ordered mine and expect it to reach me on Monday. I'm currently running a 6600gt so just want to run the steps of driver removal and install past everyone.

1. Uninstall nvidia drivers, reboot, turn off.

2. Remove 6600gt, insert x800gto

3. Boot into windows, allow it to run through detecting hardware but not install ATI drivers, turn off.

4. Flash to 16 pipes.

5. Install drivers and start clocking like mad!

Anything I've missed guys?

if yous using the cd\dvd mod you can install cat 5.9 with the X800GTO2, then reboot and flash it, windows just redetects it as an X850

at least it did for me

Yes you have missed somethings, this process would be better:

1. Install Driver Cleaner
2. Uninstall nvidia drivers, reboot, go back into windows it will attempt to search for drivers, cancel those windows.
3. Reboot again but this time into safemode (hold F8 before the windows screen and select just "Safe Mode"). Log in as Admin.
4. Run Driver cleaner and use the "Nvidia" cleaning profile along with any other Nvida GRAPHICS cleaning profiles.
5. Shutdown from safe mode, remove power cord and switch cards.
6. Boot into standard Windows, allow it to run through detecting hardware but not install ATI drivers, turn off.
7. Flash to 16 pipes.
8. Install drivers

There we go!
