SAPPHIRE RX 480 NITRO NOW AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER AT OVERCLOCKERS UK (WORLD FIRST) !!!

In silent mode it performs the same as a reference RX480 and consumes the same power as a GTX1060?? Wait, wut??
Yes, very impressive. Totally skews the perf/watt charts from TPU though.
With that silent mode BIOS it performs 93% the speed of the reference GTX1060 and uses 101% of the power. Which I make that the 1060 is 8.6% more efficient (101/93). Or for easier comparison to the TPU GTX1060 review: this PowerColor RX480 is 92.1% as efficient as the GTX1060.
A lot better than what TPU got with the GTX1060 reference where the 480 scored 67% the efficiency versus the GXT1060.

Just goes to show, that AMD are very poor at choosing default voltages (and clocks) for their cards (and CPUs). Of course, GP106 is smaller chip at ~200mm² versus 232mm² for Polaris so possibly* cheaper to make.

*but then AMD should have gotten a good deal from GF.

W00t!

What an upgrade, Firestrike graphics score from the HD6870 went from 2951 to 13446 :D

Looking forward to checking out a memory o/c then I've got GTAV, Wolfenstein and Middle Earth from the Steam summer sale to get my teeth into

Oh boy the Devil card looks good! My only issue I've seen so far is its hot temps in OC mode. It runs far too hot at 1330Mhz for that massive heatsink; but it's 9.5dba quieter than the Nitro? That's huuge, means my chassis fans will be louder.

I can't wait till OcUK finally get stock. More lovely photos from folks on reddit that are getting the card.

Well, it should be easy to change the fan profile now that WattMan is part of the drivers (although I like the custom BIOS method too). So at the same noise level of the Nitro it might (guessing) be 60°C or so.

Got mine today :).

Nitro_3.jpg

At the moment I am at 1400/8500 with stock voltage in 3DMark with no artifacts.

Score 11 730, GPU Score 14282

ASIC only at 74.1% but doesn't seem to be much of an issue.

Hopefully. Although it seems they have the card set up to be as quiet as possible, and to be honest I won't be overclocking it more either since it'll be in my Premiere Pro pc mostly.

So the low noise is fantastic, but 80 degrees is a bit rough, and it'll probably be around 85 in my H440 chassis.

Although, the Silent mode is extremely interesting. It uses much less power, is much cooler, and is still decently fast.

ok, the thing is quiet out of the box. If people are saying it's not have never experianced a 2900xt!

Ran timespy.
gpu score of 4099
cpu score of 2367

This is a non OCed 2500k i5

I am loving the backplate, it looks REALLY nice. However, that red button... that has to go. A careful application of spray, or black marker, or something.

I can't even get a sapphire nitro here yet, very Jelly!

Well I've done a few tests and the final result I managed was

Max OC 1395, Mem 2000 - On max fan speed and 30% power (not sure if power makes a difference). Firestorm result of 13666

Top Firestorm was 13900 on 1370 & 2200 Mem, 36% Power & 3200RPM fan

All of this on an i5 2500k (stock)

I will try for more tomorrow but tired now.

edit: 1 thing I noticed was Wattman causes a lower firestorm if opened thus allows for higher frequency on the GPU. All the results were with Wattman closed.
