Mine will go back for loud coil whine. Does my head in.

I just installed my RX 480, overall I'm very pleased! Does anyone else have really bad coil whine at high FPS though? Anything above 100fps is pretty loud...

I don't know if I should feel lucky or what but even with 4600+ fps I get coil whine but it's tolerable and not that high pitch either. Cause I have a 144Hz monitor bad coil whine would have killed it for me. It's Ok, I have a noisy fan on mine :/ They promise their fan returns are easy though. I may just test that. :p

Hexus tested the new performance Drivers on the Nitro 4GB and 8GB cards for ROTTR. Nearly a full 20fps increase over the reference 480 at 1080p. Even beating the Fury X.

Wow that is huge. RotTR is one of the bigger factors why the 1060 has an aggregate performance lead over the 480.

Once you add in the new AMD drivers and test Doom under Vulkan, the gap is even smaller.

Half of that boost comes from new drivers.
Too bad that this game is still too much for RX 480 to stay above 60fps with decent settings.

Er..huh? Yeah, that's what drivers do, they improve performance. Good thing, no?

Just got my haribo today!

Superb build card good performance but....

Much louder than my current R9 280x Vapour X Tri X

When i got my 280x it felt like super premium product, high quality packaging lots of stuff inside. RX480 feels cheap. But hardware itself is extra quality. Much lighter than i expected.

Here are some pics and 3dmark score:

The Vapor-X cards were really nice pieces of kit. Had both a 290 and 290X version at different points and they were the best-built cards I've ever handled. Pity that Sapphire seem to have mothballed the vapour chamber idea for now.

Has anyone tried OCing with the new drivers? I am now unable to OC to 2250 in the memory. If you have your memory OCed I'd recommend not installing these new drivers.
