Save it for the black stuff... OcUK Manchester Meet 3

Dam thats a disgusting thought :o

 Why do people always pick on me :(

James, really hope you can make it to the service station. I mean, even if you don't stay for the roads, it'd be good to see you again and see how your car has progressed.

Oh, might have another one joining us at the services too... my dad in his Rover 820 :D

He won't be staying for the rest of the meet as he has to look after my sister on Sunday, but if he can come and be in a few photos, I guess that's another Rover to be seen!

:D

I drove the 214 back home today. It felt sooooooooo different to the 220!

I wouldn't exactly call it slow. I was still quite impressed with the way it picked up in 2nd. Going to miss it for sure :( The clutch and brakes are totally different though, especially seeing as how the bite point is so high up in the 214. Revving the nuts off it and not going anywhere must have been quite a sight to some bystanders, lol.

Still, things have got to change. Hope westy enjoys her :)

Anyway, back on topic... phate, really sorry to hear that mate. It must be absolutely gutting to see your pride and joy end up in such a state. Can you get a refund on that room you booked? Hope to see you at a future meet with a nice new car :)

battery charger. You never know when you might need them. ;)

:D Not me :p

Rock on! :D Can't wait for this! Meeting westy in Manchester at 3 (ohhh, he'll be on his way now) and then going to take him for a lap or two of the 'track'.

I just hope he brought enough money for petrol.

I think Andy was bringing an AA man, an altenator, a battery, suspension, wing mirrors, and anything else likely to either fall off or break! :p

Nah, it'll be westy bringing those this time :p (prays that nothing goes wrong with the SEi).

Just spent all morning/afternoon cleaning the cars. They're looking awesome. Also just heard from westy. He's on the M6 Toll Road. Should be here soon :)

What, the 214 actually did a meet without breaking down? :D :D

I've just got home. Decided it would be fun to get as far as Huddersfield before realising I'd taken the wrong turn.

Another absolutely superb day! Thanks to everyone for turning up! There really were a lovely selection of cars there. Gilly, sorry to see that you didn't turn up, there were a couple of guys who were quite gutted actually.

And mattpc, sorry to see your car in that state :( Hope it didn't put you off attending future meets. Hope you can sort it out easy enough.

Anyway, as always... pics to come soon :)

Yeah I was out with Goliath I think it was when you went past us. And that's it... I didn't see you again

You must have gone straight past the pub again :(

On another note... that RS is a ******* MONSTER!!!!!!!

Very very quick on the straights and around bends. It grips like there's no tomorrow! Muchos thankos go to John for giving me a lengthy demo of that

edit... Oh, just heard from westy. The 214 is still chugging along  I've got a rather good picture of most of the attendants crowding around my car with the bonnet open. For some reason, I felt strangely happy that it got so much attention... only for my happiness to be ripped to shreds when El started on with the jokes.

So, who's going to write the story?

Oh wow, so you have a few pictures of us in carparks?

Nice evidence pal.

I think you'll find that the guys who attend these meets drive very very safely and to the speed limits, so good luck proving otherwise.

Hmmm, I'm just trying to think where this guy has got his evidence from?

I can't think of anyone who drove stupidly through the village... certainly no overtaking there

Perhaps you're one of the many sheep that roam around these parts? You're certainly a little baaaaaaaarmy :D (Yeah, I'm proud of that one)

Lee, cheers mate :D Yeah it was a superb day! Really enjoyable and a lot of laughs.

Exactly, he couldn't.

I know that somewrote wrote Overclockers on the back of Si's car... but that was right at the end of the meet where we took the pictures.

Ah well, never mind, he's been permabanned anyhow.

edit... Doh, too slow.

Just out of interest, when did that get written on the car?

I couldnt take her very fast as it was a horrible piece of road with lots of bumps and a few horrible bends, i did my best though :)

I didn't realise you were doing it for people to take pictures otherwise I would have got a lot more. :(

I just thought you were going for a blast.

All of those rovertech boys got ocuk accounts?

Mike and Clive (rover220) and (benno_bro) I doubt very much it was them. They're nice guys and I've known them for a while. They said that they enjoyed the day.

The other two however, I didn't know they were coming, but they seemed ok too. One of them went out in the RS.

Just thinking though... where was it that Coco locked up? Did that involve white lines? A car n00b could mistake a blue Clio for a blue Saxo.

Although, maybe someone saw the URL in the pub carpark and also saw people going out for passenger rides... or maybe someone heard someone say something in the pub.

It's unfair to start pointing fingers. It could have been anybody.
