I'll be there alright, I went to the Birmingham meet with my car missing and half dead but I still made it.

the only petrol stations are at the services, there are no other stations en route make sure you have enough for 50ish miles of fast driving. :)

Good point about the fuel Si, especially for these MR2 foke, who no doubt will be getting 8mpg....

instead of slipstream at 55 on the motorway and hopeing you mean? that was, erm, interesting!

i'm gonna have to stay on the maybe list till slightly closer to the time, still waiting to be payed :( grrr
 
Cheers for the warning, it will probably take a tank to get me there, a take for the ride and that tank might just get me home again :)

yeeeeees overdraft... hrm, that would be a good thing if it wasn't bumping against its limit in quite an alarming manor. My last pay packet was in Nov! still things should be pretty rosey if i ever get this pay check :D
 
Well, if people are staying back for fuel at the services, I think someone should hang back and wait for them.

No, I'm not offering :p

I had my bank increase my overdraft today and knock off a couple of the charges that I owed them, so I can definitely afford the new car! Getting a DV cam will be based on selling my 214 in time, which is doubtful.

Getting a new car and no DV camera, you have your prioritys backwards, we all know things with higher technology such as betamax should be placed higher up your list than a new rover :p

Why can't you sell the old un anyways?
 
Well, -westy- is in a bit of financial difficulty at the moment, hence why he's not coming to the meet.

He's going to tell me today whether he can buy the car, and if he can't, I doubt I'd sell it on eBay. Having a look last night and there's not much interest in Mk2's... especially ones with a scrape on the front bumper and a misaligned tailgate.
 
How much are you after for the rover, got a mate who's as daft as you and is after one (or something similar :p) He might be able to do you a deal with a video camera too :)

Sounds like a good deal for andy but not for your mate, even a good old VHS camera.

Nice one Lee. The 214 is probably worth about the same as a semi-decent DV camera :D

Well, I was going to sell it to -westy- for £350, I think that's a fair price seeing as it's recently had loads of work done to it. It's had 3 oil changes in the past year as well as a brand new rad/gearbox etc etc. HG done 15,000 ago :p

If I did get £350 for it, I'd get the brake discs and alternator changed before it went. I have new discs and a 3 month old alternator sat at home... I just can't be bothered to change them in this weather.
