Save the NHS!

Why use the NHS if its such a shambles? If you aren't happy waiting 2wks don't clog up the NHS and pay private. Why not fly to the states.

There's an old saying that would apply quite pertinently to you: Don't bite the hand that feeds you

I think this cat believes his offerings of a dead moth and half a mouse has covered him and 4 benefit scrounging druggies for this lifetime.

The American dream. If you work in insurance that is

And healthcare and Pharmaceuticals and also anything that supplies medical equipment.

Health insurance in the US is a service which relies on the fact that you may literately die without it.

How much fuss was made this year when big Pharma companies marked up the price of some drugs for profit?

What was that AIDS drug overnight mark-up?

5500%? Yeah i dont think i would like to have to rely on a system where everyone in the chain is exploiting or being exploited.

I am healthy, why should I pay for some 80 year old geezer who lives in the hospital? He should've looked ahead and saved up for his hospitalization, sell his bungalow or something. Utterly ridiculous.

My Dad is 81 and he's paid into the system from the age of 15 until 65 so he deserves more treatment than you.
He did save up for hospitalization and so have I by paying our taxes.

Paying taxes doesn't mean you saved up for hospitalisation, if you are a net recipient of the system then your overall financial contribution is less than zero. I'm not saying that is your situation, just disputing the idea that people that pay their taxes pay their way, when the reality is very different and very small amount of people actually pay their way and more.

Close but a mile off

Why SHOULD healthcare be correlated to your income?

Well like everyone else, doctors (and other healthcare professionals) don't work for free.
So if individuals are not paying them directly, then an insurance or government based dilution scheme will be paying them.
If it is the individuals directly, then income will certainly equate to healthcare.

Hey bear... But if you don't have an 81yo father your opinion is null and void :p jk

Sometimes people milk the system and it is open to abuse. We have to in some regards accept that with a free at point of service use. But to draw a very dodgy contrast a baby may receive care that they do not pay for, it comes from the payments of others and then when they contribute it in turn funds the cycle to repeat.

People who are old (particularly over 80 like my grandad) came from possibly one of the hardest working generations overall (all encompassing wise). Eg hardly taking time off work or their child is born they had a few hours grace and then it was back to work.

All these hissy fits about how its not fair, if you work as cleaner, you shop tesco or asda value brand.
You don't die of hunger, if you want waitrose, better get a better job. You don't see people crying over that do you? If you dont work at all, get food stamps and eat at food kitchens. No one is waving around saying, OMG these poor people they should all have access to the best butchers!!!

The kids, kids!! They're not eating organic and cage free, oh my god!!! What a backward country it is.

You guys clearly hold vile and extreme communist views, move to north korea or something. We believe in working hard and being rewarded for it, not slouching off your neighbor. Want better healthcare, food, lifestyle. Work for it.

We do not have universal free food system which is a much bigger factor and much more necessary for survival and also is extremely important to healthy physical development, free High Quality food that is organic with no hormones or additives, is not a RIGHT in UK, so why the hell should healthcare be one?

While at it, throw around the slogan. No Money - No Food, dead in 2 weeks.

So quality of food that you consume is 100% linked to amount you're willing to spend and that's absolutely fine, food a resource that is vital for survival. Yet say same thing for healthcare and you're all running with pitchforks in circle.

Imagine you get cancer, and are not able to work anymore... How will you afford Organic Cage free?? That is such a vile system, I want you to pay for my organic food.
