Saving Sessions / Demand reduction thread

To add to above post.

Last year they didn't take into account export which seeing as its a shortage of supply to the grid at not £LOL (the last bits of generation are indeed £LOL).
It was clearly a bit dumb where part of the future grid strategy was utilising various consumer to grid schemes (cars batteries etc) and yet it was excluded.
So along with deleting the in day adjustment (how you made £s in 22/23 season) they added that export is now included in domestic payouts, so your net improvement counts and not simply your net reduction.

You 100% need batteries though. No one is going to be generating solar when the majority of the sessions are likely to be. (generally 4-7pm peak)

I looked on the website, seems to be the first place its advertised.

Ah yeah last time when I gave early notification it was from there as well.
Seems to be the fastest way, I guess it needs to be done first in order to allow signup.

Wonder if we can setup an automated type check. I only know of ones that work when you have the browser open

From the link Ron put up yesterday then the two higher paying sessions were real.
The lower paying are test.

I do think however that whilst they are test, they are still making a real impact, its just they are not desperate requirement as opposed to nice to have.

Also I think the point of the test sessions is likely to be different this year to last. I think last was mainly, do they work, can they make a difference.
This year seems shorter notice to some extent and I wonder if its more focussed on notice and timings.
Plus of course this year moved the in day out of scope and brought export into scope. (Export being really dumb to be excluded last year of course).

I believe as part of the scheme NG guarantee at least 12. Obviously there is work for the energy companies and to get public engagement there needs to be enough to actually garner some momentum.
