Saving Sessions / Demand reduction thread

I've got a surprisingly high baseline figure (around 0.7kwh) so thats a nice start.
I haven't been really aiming to use grid from 5-7pm as its so cold I rarely have much battery by 5pm bar the last few days anyway.

However if it looks like the sessions are starting up again I may look to eliminate battery usage from 5-7pm again, apart from strong solar days.

Its going to be very interesting to see how it plays out because you certainly have a few different cohorts who will take differing actions based on the price

Eg I would probably be happy to export down to say 50pence as long as I can still import for 30pence, I don't think I would consider lower then 20p profit per kwh since its wear and tear on the batteries, conversion loss, and they current save me 20p roughly in normal operation

But the people "sitting in the dark" would surely mainly have a much higher threshold, since for many they are only gaining a few £ max now.

There will a group of "die hard" savers who will carry on and be happy with 5p for sitting in the dark for an hour.

The last one on 2/2 was 200MW required, which produced 157 / 161.

I agree, on the price. It paid up to a max £2.50 last time but I'm not expecting above the £1.75 paid by Octopus this time. I would hope it isn't any less.

I think your picking up the committed (Ie accepted) the last sessions actuals arent published

Thanks to a well timed power up monday (5-8pm) I had a baseline of just over 1kwh this time.
I think I imported around 3 minutes rather than exporting so should get about 54mins net export.
So should be good for around 5.25kwh net @ £1.75/kwh

Will need to wait on the results to see if they exclude power ups, but thats pretty manual right now so unlikely I think.

7040 and 6168 now means I am at £151.90
Will be converting to credit in 6-7 weeks time if there are no partner offers I want to accept.

Would mean at that point my DD can stay at £20 a month for the rest of the year. I still have some credit even though paying £20 only for months now.

Sad thing is we are now only 1.5 months off the SS ending again. Seemed to go very quickly this year.

Two of the sessions were live sessions though, so not sure they count against the total of 12. So potentially one more test session after today.

Hopefully today will be a longer\better paying one than yesterday.

True and TBH they break their own rules anyway
They had a minimum of £3000/mwh at the start and they moved away from that!

Hopefully its not just the other 30 minutes :p

Was my thought, if they are just in effect getting the number of committed sessions overwith by doing the minimum time

Talking of breaking their own rules and changing them as they see fit lol

"From January 2024 to the end of March 2024 the ESO will look to run a further six tests. If the forecast volume of participation in the service exceeds 1.25GW at this stage, these tests will be competitively tendered, without the use of a GAP.

DFS tests will last for one hour."
