Saving Sessions / Demand reduction thread

Exported 7.4 :p

Where is the easiest place to find my baseline?

octopus website and check past couple weeks on exporting
He said what's the easiest way, to do as you've said he'll have to look up when there were sessions, even if Octopus did not participate it counts, then note imports and exports, then calculate it all.

This is the easiest way https://savingsessions.streamlit.app/

I exported 7.539 kWh, less my baseline = 7.069 kWh additional export.

forgot about that site, not even used it this time around since ive not been participating.

I said before but may not have been in this thread
When I looked at the last set of auctions (you know where they sign the contracts to supply the national demand at £x/MWh) there was a decent chunk of demand flexibility in there, so its basically baked in for the capacity calculations.

At the price we are being paid its still amongst the cheapest they can secure.

The scheme was also only scheduled to last until March in previous years, so even if there was demand post April 1st there was no approved mechanism in place to actually trigger the bidding process for demand reduction.
Its now basically permanently in effect so could happen at literally any point.

for the cost involved i cant be bothered putting the strain on my battery. Also as it stands at moment if i use my pc much in the evening sometimes even wihtout forced exporting my battery can sometimes be close to empty by the time 11:30 comes. (the joy of a 3090 rtx powered pc which pulls a steady 600w when gaming)

that whopping 3p payment in octopoints come from the tiny amount of export my panels were still doing at 6pm

Well seems I messed up. Thought as I have a battery and it will compare to a while ago I'll make loads.
But nope, save 0.17kwh, so I need to understand how this works lol....

Not a saving session as such, but posting here as I haven't got the time to see if its posted elsewhere, and not every one may see it elsewhere.

Having driven back from Manchester today, my battery is at 20%, think I'll charge to 100% to make the most it :D

With sublime weather set for much of the UK this week, we’ve got an extra special Monday treat to kickstart those sunny adventures…

50% off electricity for your EV and home between 23:30-5:30 tonight.

Yup, that's right: we'll give you 50% off your already super-cheap off-peak rate tonight, as long as you...

• Plug your EV in this evening (Monday 28 April) AND
• Don't plug in your EV tomorrow evening (Tuesday 29 April)

Give the summer wardrobe a wash, get the wheels charged, or set the dishwasher to task after a spontaneous BBQ. Tick off the list tonight and save while you’re at it.

Wondering why we’re offering half-price energy?
We unlock super-low prices for Intelligent drivers by charging your cars flexibly. This isn’t just about nabbing cheap wholesale rates – we also get compensation through grid-balancing schemes and pass the savings on to you. Over the next two days, we have an exciting chance to show the impact of EV drivers in one such scheme.
How will I get my 50% off discount?

We’ll apply credit to your account within the next 2 weeks (so don’t worry if you can’t see the discount straight away).

What if you schedule some of my smart charging outside of 23:30-05:30 tonight?

That'll be included too: so we'll ALSO make any scheduled smart charging tonight 50% off, even if it's not between 23:30 and 5:30. Score!

Nice, I’m plugged in also, shame I charged from 12% to 80% last night!!!

Don’t forget you also need to charge your car to get the discount.
