Saw a strange shadow - please give me a logical explanation

It might be a low frequency sound from a fan or dodgy engine somewhere. It could cause a dark image in the eye, which the brain then attempts to rationalise by linking emotions and known imagery together into something that makes some semblance of sense.

I think you're describing infrasound there. It's a very interesting thing and could account for a lot of hauntings.

Update: Never saw the shadow again. Put it down to tiredness. But, in a way it was comforting to think of it as my granda.

3 weeks after this post my partner's sister committed suicide, who I was very close to.

Life is a funny thing.

The logical explanation is it wasn't the ghost or spirit of your grandfather because such things do not exist. Due to your failure to investigate, what it was will remain unknown.

Totally disagree with you there,

One night about 10 years ago, I heard i crackling sound then a voice throught the baby monitor while sitting watching the tv, it was a repeating hello and then my new borns name clear as anything, at first i thought thats interference then realised that sounds like my nan she died about 1 year before.

My wife turned to me and said i heard that and that was your nan wasnt it, i turned to her and said it certainly was and thanks i thought i was cracking up.

Some People will not believe this strory but got no reson to lie, it was a pure magical moment i will never forget.

love these kind of threads.

There are many things you can't prove yet we know exist.
Like what?
We have enough evidence about the subjects/things related to theorise the existence of something without physical evidence for such things. That's all within reason.
Believing in supernatural nonsense is not within reason.
The mind is a powerful thing.

Can you prove the great fire of London happened?

Can you prove Einstein existed?

Sure, there are accounts and for Einstein photos but remember, photos can be faked. Accounts can be made up.

Jesus got some attention then LOL ^^^^ in all honesty if it was just me hearing it on my own i would have not said a thing and thought yeah your mind is messed up but the Mrs heard the exact same thing so i will leave it at that :)

Life is magical sometimes :)

I think proving an event did happen and an event can happen are two different things tbh. I like to keep an open mind about things but i would say that something that you cant explain definitely did happen in a way you believe is pretty foolish.

Its one thing saying you think it was your nan but another to say it was your nan but you simply dont know how.

I dont doubt a voice was heard on the monitor going hello but i am doubtful it was your nan. Monitors are of low audio quality and people who sound similar-ish can easily sound the same on the monitor. My speakers and walkie talkies pick up all sorts of people, mainly taxi people and often people saying hello because they are tuning something trying to get the right channel.

This is what i thought for the first few seconds, but then to say my Daughters name after was the icing on the cake, you obviously don't believe it and that's fine we know what we heard and will never forgot the magical moment.

What's your daughter's name?

Ella xD

Peoples beliefs can be powerful things. Look at people who think they genuinely communicate with god directly. There are a lot of silly things to believe in out there, ghosts are just one of them but belief in the right doses it gives people hope, comfort, happiness or whatever, so its fine. Wrong doses though can obviously lead to pretty horrible stuff though...
