Saxxxo VTR

You're right, I shouldnt have bought it in the first place... Ive driven nothing but German cars since I passed, and drove a 2003 BMW 320i for 4 months before I got the saxo, which may explain my disappointment!
Even though it may seem like a good car to those posting, but after driving so many cars from a perodua nippa to a new merc eclass, I can honestly say its a rubbish car. The only rewarding attribute is the low down torque, which can be mildly fun, but the awful noise this car produces quickly cancels any happy feelings.
The engine itself is pretty bulletproof, but everything else in the car just falls to bits, literally.

Ive traded in the Saxo to an unsuspecting car supermarket :D , as the mechanic said the right driftshaft needed changing (around £500!!!), the right CV joint is cracked, the middle part of the exhaust was corroding (Just spend £50 on the rear part!) AND the front discs are warping, even though they were changed last year.
So to summarise the expenditure in the 4 months of ownership:

drop-links £50 (still knocking)
exhaust £50 (back box was blowing)
new clutch £300 (Clutch release bearing suddenly went)
2 new tyres £120
ignition key got stuck, needed to replace all locks £120 (another common problem  )
New battery £25
BOTH front and rear wipers jets failed £50 (wtf!)

So the bloody thing has costed me £180 a month in repairs!
If I keep it, its another £900 for the driveshaft, CV joint, exhaust and brakes/pads. WTF IS WRONG WITH THIS CAR?

I did examine the car very thoroughly before I bought it, doing all the checks that should be done, and took it on a 15 minute test drive. But I didnt find any problems, or hear any strange sounds. Within a month the car just started to fall apart asking for money.
The car was MINT, and was very well kept (full service etc), so it wasnt just because I paid less than market value that it caused so many problems, I didnt just buy something that was obviously a dog.

Im going to pick up my new car (2002 Seat Leon 1.6) on Friday. Not very fast, but is reliable, and was a bit of a bargain, so I couldnt resist.

How old was your Saxo btw?

I just went to fill the car up and got 390 miles out of the tank:D:D

That takes it over 50mpg eh?

I've mainly been doing 50/60mph on A roads so thats about 2.5k revs in 5th.

Not bad eh? Gonna try 400 next tym hahaha

Oh I went down to my mechanic friend's garage yesterday and the rattling noise is the middle box:S

£70........

He checked all the heat shield an that and and the brackets and they were all fine.

I then sat in the car and went up on the ramp whilst he was underneath. Planted it at 3k revs and he confirmed its the middle box.

The oil leak underneath he said should be alright, keep an eye on the oil level and watch for any traces on the drive or in the garage.

I'm starting to regret buying french................

If this car plays up it t'will b sold!!!!!!!

Well 390 miles on 35 litres of fuel which is what I put in = 50mpg on the calculator I use.

I don't care what citreon say, there is no way 45 litres can fit in my car lol.

I brim it, 3 clicks as it is.
