Say hello to the new moderating team

Gonna apply for Dolph's old job? :p

Not a chance :) My SC days are well and truly over, there are only so many left wing student arguments that a man can stomach in a lifetime.
Still a major reason for my decision to stop posting there was what I percieved to be unfair and biased moderating. I guess that reason has gone now.

I'd like to thank Dolph for the time he put into modding SC. I'll be interested to see if either of the 2 mods there will become as involved as he did, while some may have disagreed with his decisions I think he did a lot to keep it a civil place where you could hold a debate.

Yes, I agree with your pensive proposition that one of 'us' would make an excellent SC moderator

In all seriousness I think Yewen and Rotty will be good mods. What that forum needs is neutral moderators. I may apply :p

I'd offer no thanks to Dolph for his moderation, but I would for his contribution as a poster. We dont see eye to eye on some issues but the interaction is always fun and very often worthwhile.

I do beg your pardon... one is still too many..

Not when it is just a dig at the mod team and nothing constructive.

If you have issue with the removal then please email me, it is certainly justified.

mmmm just what SC would need. A uber left wing student pro immigration, pro muslim moderator.

Rotty IS a good SC Mod, aided no doubt by the fact he has little interest in politics.

I won't comment on Yewen, never seen him post in SC so have no idea how he would be in there.

I'm not sure that you can have an interest in politics and mod SC, too many highly emotive topics and I doubt many people can be completely impassive when modding for ever.

Pebbles voiced her opinion, I didn't actually notice any rule breaking yet she is now suspended, why is that?

Are we going to see the same kind of farce that happened in the console forum?

Indeed, I valued his contribution highly and hope it will continue. I was never particularly close to any of the issues regarding moderation in SC but I noticed concerted efforts from him to keep the debate civil through some highly charged topics.

You might not have noticed rulebreaking but really its not any of your concern. I hope what we saw in the consoles forum doesn't happen again but if it does there'll be bannings and suspensions.

I have been moderating SC for a few months now, I took it on after Case Central and before Members Market. Been moderating the section impartially ever since. :)

I will never get myself part of a debate and due to not really having an interest in current world issues to the level of the average SC poster my lack of an opinion means I can quite easily take out the personal attacks. My style of moderating in there is to remove the posts without a trace to let the debate carry on flowing naturally, also pick up the RTM posts. :)

Spie pays for it , take it or leave it.

A good list of mod's there, life goes on . :D

Mark

( Why are people attacking Yewen ? .What's he done wrong ?)
