one is 3939X (we know as 3960X)
second is 3939K (we know as 3930K)
... as far as I can see![]()
Does sound a bit, odd though don't you agree?

Isn't this it:
http://geizhals.de/eu/700218
Search for the CM8061901100802SR0KY code.
Referenced at Intel here.
Even though they could not confirm to me that it is C2, I ordered it with notion that it must be the quoted code. Will know more tomorrow morning first hand![]()
Well, the CPU has SR0KY printed on it, and CPU-Z has Stepping 7 in the info.
Let me know if there is anything else I could check to confirm it is C2.
Haven't tried overclocking yet.
inSilica, I hope you are right.
Btw keep in mind that this was in stock under C1 so maybe C2s are all over but we don't know yet. When I called the store they were clueless about the S-spec codes.
Key for me was that it is a tray version of the CPU, that one was never in stock in Germany before, at least while I was tracking, so on 20th it was the first time.
N00bbuilder79, not yet, running stability tests currently on stock (3.8ghz turbo). I use watercooling so it has extra layer of complexity, checking for leaks.
I don't expect difference from C1, and with the silicon lottery you can never be sure what contributes to a better OC.

(at least I hope because I'm fed-up of reading - I always buy processor + motherboard + RAM) TOGETHER, and last - I'm fussy about DOA and since these break most frequently I like to test them ASAP.Not tried clocking mine using the bus, I have done it through the multi but can run stable on 5.1Ghz with under 1.4 volts
inSilica, hehe yeah I was checking all possible threads on this CPU's whereabouts, then to my surprise it went unnoticed.
That screenshot setup is crazy - even if that works for me, the heat output would be too great for anything other than bragging.
I'm using "just" 16GB, Corsair Vengeance, 4x4. Nothing fancy, may upgrade later if reviews show benefit, which for memory it hardly matters for the things I do.
will be a waste of money for SB-E at least.Wow! I heard the Asus IV-E was a beast! Are you running latest Asus firmware?
Original plan was to get the Asus X79 Pro but I'm leaning more towards the IV-E.
My plan is stay below 1.35 for 24/7 use
I am pretty sure it will do more, just not got round to pushing beyond 5.1 yet.
