Scared of wasps/bees

I'm being serious here, I'm petrified when I see a wasp/bee indoors or when I see quite a few in a small area.

I don't know why I'm scared though?

Maybe because I've never been stung, so I don't know how bad it is.

I know it sounds really pathetic but it is a problem that I want to resolve.

Any tips?

Its fine to be scared of wasps, they're evil horrible things! I got stung all up my leg when I was younger and climbing through a hedge, hurt like hell! Never liked them since.

My dad is allergic to wasps and bloats up like the elephant man when he gets stung, had to go to hospital last year when he got stung as his face bloated up!

Bees on the other hand are fine and you shouldn't be scared of them! :)

I was abit weary of them, but it got worse when I got stung once on the back of the neck by a wasp

So painful and felt like I was paralised around the neck area for an hour or so.

Getting stung doesn't really hurt that much. They're a pest more than anything else. A lot of people have an irrational fear of wasps/bees - I don't particularly like them though. One met his demise with Will Gill's fag packet in Brighton - smoking kills ;)

Always had a fear of being locked in a room aswel and a swarm of wasps come through air vents, like you see on films :(

Couldn't care less about bees, I felt sorry for one that stung me by accident years ago. Wasps however - cannot stand them (traumatic experience as a child lol). Hornets - even more so after been held under siege by one whilst reading a paper on the toilet.

I'm not too bothered by Bees, they seem quite slow and are fairly 'friendly' in my experience.

Wasps are the scourge of the earth though. I hate them. However, I've never been stung by anything!

Bee afraid.

You're scared because your parents failed to teach you not to be scared, and quite probably actually taught you to be scared.

I not bothered by them and I’ll take a close look when a bee is gathering pollen. But my wife is the opposite and she’s scared of them. She’s got a double dose of fear.

I once got stung by a Bee on a trampoline and looked down and there was the Bee. I then thought it would just fly off and it wasn't hurting really so I just carried on jumping up and down. Then I went to a friends house and was there for half an hour before looking down at my arm and the bee was still there. I brushed it off and it was dead. It was very strange though how it had stayed on for so long without me noticing.

Talking of bugs, we saw a caterpillar in the garden yesterday that was about 3 inches long. I got my daughter out of bed to come and see it.

My brother pushed me off a wall when i was a kid, landed on a wasps nest. Got stung lots. Have a fear of wasps now !

I've been stung quite a few times by wasps, they don't hurt that much really, on a scale of one to ten they are about 5-6, once the initial sting has worn off there is a dull ache which is about as annoying as a mosquito bite.
Not scared of them anymore :)
