Scared of wasps/bees

I remember when I was a kid and stepped on a wasp's nest while out playing in the woods, that didn't go to well.

Bee's just don't tend to bother you, wasp's on the have hand can be a pain for all sorts of reasons.

Never been stung by a bee in my life, had plenty of wasp stings tho.

When i was about 6 i went to my grandads and he kept many bee hives. I decided to get two sticks ( you can see where this is going ) and play as a drummer on as many bee hives as i could, i think i only got to the third or forth hive before i was swarmed with very angry bees who obviously didn't appreciate my L337 drumming skillz. If it wasnt for my high neck tight woolen jumper i probably would have died. I was stripped and thrown in the bath to get the bees off me. My hands were deformed because i had so many stings on them.

My grandad use to collect the honey without anything covering his hands and he would let the bees sting him, im sure he believed he would have nicer honey with all the 'nasty' bees gone :D
(Edit:Just got told he didn't bother to wear gloves because he was pretty much immune to the sting LOL )

Despite my experience with the bees i love em, well honey anyway :)

I'm being serious here, I'm petrified when I see a wasp/bee indoors or when I see quite a few in a small area.

I don't know why I'm scared though?

Maybe because I've never been stung, so I don't know how bad it is.

I know it sounds really pathetic but it is a problem that I want to resolve.

Any tips?

i used to be terrified of bees until i went to a theme park in the summer and they were everywhere...

had to learn to live with them on that day sitting eating with bees and wasps flying all over  they had honey traps everywhere to full of the dirty little *******.

i quickly learned they werent about to attack you for the sake of it and since ive not really been that bothered by bees since..

if a bee comes in the house ivre learned a fast way to help them fly out is to open 1 window really wide on each side of the house and they will follow the air stream and get out fairly quickly

Haven't been stung since i was like 12, but got stung 5 times in 2 days once and i **** myself whenever i hear them ever since.

Also got stung by a bee behind my ear, that was quite sore.

Best tip i can give would be get stung, i want to be stung so i realise its not that bad anymore

Stood on one bare foot and slapped one when it landed on my head and stung my head.

The bare foot one hurt a lot but surprisingly being stung in the head wasn't bad. Well it wasn't good but didn't hurt a lot.

Bees seem to just be curious and just want to check you out.

Wasps appear to be vindictive, will buzz around you even if you're not imposing on them. I hate wasps.

HATE wasps! horrible damn things! if any come in my room they die... unless it has the sense to do one back out the window! its the buzz they make that gets me the most, same with flies, hate it!
Luckily not had any in my room this summer, they do hang out by my window from time to time, there's a couple around them at the min in fact, they like to fly around and land on my window handles, any closer and splat!

That's one of the funniest things I've ever read. What kind of a person goes "I know, I'll use a bee hive as a drum kit" without also thinking "annoying bees, that might not be a very good idea...".

When i was that age i use to drum on pretty much everything, the hives just got in my way :o
They definitely stopped my career as a drummer.
