Scariest Monster / Thing in a game?

So, what freaked you out most of all in a video game?

For me, possibly the enemies from Dead Space or Silent Hill... Pyramid Head wasn't pleasant to get chased by.

I wasn't terrified, but I wasn't happy either!

silent hill definitly has some of the most warped monsters, enough to keep them in your mind until the day you die.

I remember being properly scared when a zombie first appeared (exploding out from a wall IIRC) in RTCW as I had no idea it was anything other than a WW2 shooter at the time, so I really wasn't expecting anything like that

The Alien type beasty things that chase you across the roofs in HL2 made my ring piece whistle dixey.

Also The Many in SS2. Their apologetic moans while they bashed your skull in were very unnerving.

That also brings me to probably THE most terrifying gaming experiences I've ever had...the Project Zero series.

The original scared me poopless.

2 moments that made me jump out of my skin...

* that bit on Resi Evil (1 or 2, don't remember) where you are walking down a corridor and some arms smash through a window and grab you!

* Turok when you are in the caves and a big monster smash's through a wall :O
