Scariest Monster / Thing in a game?

How about an honerable mention to these two:

The ninjas in Half Life 1. The way they used to jump about at lightspeed was way freaky.

Yes, near the end of my recent play through of Opposing Force and those ninja's are freaky, also as has been mentioned, the big under water fish things, take a few rounds to kill and they're damn fast!

The bit in one of the FEAR expansions where Holiday gets ripped to shreds by this invisible creep...

The way the scary music just stops and all you hear is Holiday screaming loudly as you see his bones being broken in front of you...

Just a little bit terrified me :p

Cant remember what it was called but it was on the PS store where you had o buy the chapters seperately. (I just bought the whole thing). I had to put the game away after getting to I think chapter 8 when your a little girl holding a teddy bear and you try and escape from a freaking hospital in the dark with some crazy assed zombies in there.

Just freaked me out way too much for me to finish the game :(

lol would this happen to be 'Siren: Blood Curse' by any chance? I don't think anybody is quite right after playing that.

Yes it is. I had nightmares for weeks :( (I was 14 when I played it)

Inside the body of the Many in System Shock 2 was just a creep fest from start to finish. The voice logs you kept finding from the scientist that went before you didn't help at all - he's being carried off to be digested and he's still trying to report on what's happening. The actor was brilliant, you could hear his voice start to crack from panic.

One bit that really freaked me out in SS2 was a ghost sequence where a woman is tied down on an operating table, and the ships doctor is going to convert her into a cyborg midwife. She's begging him 'Please! I don't want to change!'

It disturbs me to this day.

Great, great game. The voice acting was excellent, in particular was Shodan's. Unsettling to say the least.

Just found the lady on youtube that does Shodan's voice.
