scary childrens tv shows

For those of a certain age, the scariest shows ever:

The Singing Ringing Tree
The Tomorrow People (especially the into music)

My daughter has a phobia about the Moomins, and I thought she was the only one. I shall tell her about this thread. :D
 
I was talking scary things full stop (not just about kids shows) with a bunch of mates before and me and one mates girlfriend both said, at the same time, 'Are you afraid of the dark?'

Looked at each other spooked that we said the same thing, then said, again at the same time, "The one with the swimming pool".

So there, we weren't just talking about kids shows, but scary things full stop, both mentioning the exact same thing. Definitive proof that, that episode is the scariest thing ever shown on TV for kids.

They had some utterly surreal and bizarre plots, iirc, it totally freaked me out when I was a kid
 
The only program I can remember that scared me was utterly pants, and called "The Behemoth" or something, which was basically a big computer/machine that was deep underground some kids school. The one scene that got me, and it really got me, was when they drilled a pilot hole and lowered a probe on a cable into it, only for the probe+cable+rig to be pulled in at ludicrous speed by whatever was down there.

Embarrassing, but true.
