Scary Games

I hate Doom 3 more than any other game ever. I think with F.E.A.R it helps if you find Japanese horror films scary, 'specially the Ring. If you don't- then you probably immune.

I found the thief games to be very atmospheric and sometimes very scarey.

Thief : The Dark Project still holds the crown for giving me the biggest scare ever i think, made me break my headphones in shock. It was one the first level as well, it took me a while to go back to it :)

Buy a PS2 and get Silent Hill 2 and 3 and Resident Evil 2 and 3 on psx.
Buy a Gamecube and get Resident evil 1 remake.

Only 'scary' recemt game I know of is Dead Space. It is pretty creepy though!

Ok, I want to play a game that will scrae the wits out of my when I play alone in the dark. I've been there and done that with F.E.A.R 1&2 bbut now I'm getting bored of playing *Shock! Horror!* MW2, so I thought I'd look for another scary title. Any ideas?

What sort of movies scare you?

What about vampire masquerade: Bloodlines?
Made me jump in some places, especially the haunted house bit and 1 or 2 boss fights which sometimes made me jumpy  I thought the game in whole had some kind of eerie atmosphere...maybe it was just me?

I liked fear but i never did finish it as i went on to play something else, however i did'nt find it all that scary to be honest.

The very first resident evil always used to scare me though when i was younger and i always had to pause it after something made me jump.

I found Doom3 scary for a while then I got used to usually when and where the next fight was going to come from. Though on occasion it did still manage to make me jump! :)

Dead Space is very atmospheric. FEAR and (to a lesser extent) FEAR2 tend to rely on 'jumpy' moments instead, but they're still very effective.

stalker particularly with certain mods, the newest is probley the best for that...at night don't wanna be traveling in the zone at night

I noticed that the complete mod for the first one dims the flash light so its useless :( pretty much

dead space was quite scary too...i at first thought it was not, till I got to level 7 and **** myself :( or was it level 8......meh

Scariest game I've ever played on PC has to be dead space. Get some good headphones/speakers and turn the volume up and the lights out and your bound to get hypertension

I always found Quake II to be scary... but I think that's just me :p And that was years ago, anyhow. But the ambiance + creature noises really unnerved me.
