Scorn - wtf?

From what I have seen this is the most compelling game I have seen in a long time, it lets people make their own minds up and does not sell some narrative or force feed you, I like that!

Concept art from Alien movies^

The artwork from HR Giger has a sort of BDSM / sexual flair to it, also very visceral. Taking us on the inside rather than the outside.

Just got a fresh £1 Xbox gamepass in preparation for this, although if it's good, i'll buy it from steam too - right up my alley.

Going to dig out my old Giger art books in preparation, even have one signed by him, might be a good time to sell when this drops actually.

Not really bad news or a problem, it's not a massive open world game that would benefit from the instant load times DS would offer switching from area to area. I see no reason why this closed sandbox gameworld won't load the game within seconds on any half decent PC anyway. Consoles need DS, PCs have always been fast to load games (unless they are shoddy ports lol, think GTA3 days).

This unlocks at 11am according to Gamepass - Anyone else preloaded? Got this and Plague Tale Reqium installed.

Just gave it a quick play, will do screenshots/clips later but so far it runs superbly, the GFX settings only go up to "High" and there's no HDR or RT options to enable either, pretty minimalistic.

It barely even breathes on the CPU, and the GPU is hardly in need of a workout it seems.

It looks very atmospheric though, was able to set the framerate locked to 120fps without issue, hell 144 worked fine too but I'm keeping it below the refresh rate and gives the GPU room to run quieter.

Motion blur is annoying so be sure to turn that off too, otherwise the game runs very nicely, no issues to note so far. You have zero on screen map or tips etc, gotta figure everything out which is interesting.

More later!

Just watched the Gmanlives review on this.

May try it out as it's only 4hrs long. Doesn't appear to be much of a game, but visually very cool. But short games i do like as they can wow me more

Its atmospheric (reminds me a lot of similar Amiga interactive games from the early 1990s in a good way!) but gameplay is fiddly as no visual clues so be prepared to wonder around a lot ...........!

Tried it on gamepass and just couldn't get into it, graphics and atmosphere are brilliant just found it dull. Could be a great base\setting for other games though in the future
