Scotland fans supporting England?

Amen brother! Just look at how well the rugby team are doing. I think Healy needs competent players around him to show people what he's really capable of. I think the Irish F.A. fear change though. Like you I think it would be a positive thing and a step in the right direction. The football here really is pants. lol

I find it really hard to maintain even a passing interest when mates of mine are talking about Glentoran vs Distillery or Linfield etc. The quality of football is akin to a drunk sunday league kickabout, and most matches are usually abandoned after 45 seconds when someone throws some belly button fluff onto the pitch.

Maybe we should petition the Irish FA to create a national side? ;)

Like the truth of that post, I was going to call it a joke but it isn't really :D

As I think I said in the other thread on who we would be supporting, it will be anyone but England, not least because of the commentators.

I think we should :), there was mention of it about 6 months ago, but like most things the Irish F.A talk about, they soon forget about it. It would be nice to have teams here that I could support locally without sitting amongst a group of bigot fans who use religion as a way of winding up opposition fans. Maybe, who knows...when I have grandchildren in about 30-40 years, I might be able to take them to a match and enjoy it.

Brazil for me, always have and always will support them and im not brazilian. Although only time i will support England is when they play someone like Germany but thats about it.

Its not that i think England are crap or anything, its just the way they play...some pretty boring football. Id rather much see the Brazilians play football even though they may get beat a few times here and there.

the oh so boring attitude of england expects etc portrayed in the media puts me off actually supporting them every time. that said, i would be quite happy to see england do well.
I won't be supporting anybody this world cup seeing as Scotland won't be there, however, there are teams i would like to see do well, england being one of them due to the fact that Rooney is a brilliant player to watch and its looking like he won't be invovled until the knockout stages, if at all.

LOL! Had to laugh at that :)

My head says I should support England but my heart says.....

It's nothing against the English, as someone has already said it's the media coverage we get that puts us off supporting England. The United Kingdom is unique in world football (and rugby and probably other sports too) in that within one country we have four separate nations competing in the world's most popular sport. As we all get BBC or ITV coverage we have to put up with the commentators and summarisers all going on about we and us. You don't have the situation for example in France where their world cup coverage is presented by a German television station in French language.

It just so happens that T&T have a few Scottish based players in their squad (who'll probably not even get into the team :p ) so we'll just hitch a ride with them ;)

Best of luck to England but just don't win it, eh? ;)

Would pointing out that absolute zero (0K) occurs at -273.15 oC spoil the joke? Still true, though I am coming round to the idea of egging on the English on account of the fact that I have more English friends than other World Cup competitors.

I never usually bother with England until they start the national anthemns. Then i get all patriotic and as a fierce Royalist and pro-Unionist, i become an England fan for 90 minutes.

England gave my team Gary Stevens, Ray Wilkins, Trever Francis, Terry Butcher, Paul Gascoigne, Chris Woods, Graham Roberts and Mark Hateley. I have to show my appreciation somehow ;)

COME ON the Queen`s 11 !!.

You Supported Scotland Under William Wallace now support England Under Me - Sven

Spose its not Scotlands fault there teams not good enough for the W.C So no doubt there jealous of england :p :p
