scout update TF2

The scout unlocks are really, really poor.
The new scatter gun? whats the point seriously? at best its a terrible replacement for the double jump if using the bat and ball and at worst its useless with only 2 shots per clip on anything you couldnt pretty much 2 hit with the bat anyway - and yes, you do have to be-that- close due to its reduced damage, but more bullets fired.
Bat and ball - Ok, this sucks too, great for stunning the medic or heavy in an uber rush to **** things over but for the entire rest of the time your useless since it does next to no damage against non stunned targets.
Energy drink - the one saving grace, its awesome .. wouldnt swap this now.

Once you get good with the new gun and the Bat + Ball they are awesome.
You are very hard to kill as a scout and running in, picking off enemies one at a time by 2 shots, reload, stun, 2 shots is very effective, I have been getting some very nice scores as the scout on arena maps.
Because of the lack of healing, I am able to pick peoples hp down slowly by ambushing and running away, then when i think their hp will be low enough, stun, 2 shots and they are dead, taking out 5 or 6 people from the enemy team seems very good too me.
I love stunning then 2 shotting medics while the heavy, demo, pyro is facing the other way :D

And I don't really like the drink much, I have switched back to the pistol because i like being able to do some damage from a distance when needed.

I HATE that force-a-nature and the new bat, it makes playing as a pyro impossible, they just knock you back out of range of your flamethrower with 1 shot then finish you. New bat thing is just annoying when you're ubered.
The shotgun is so overpowered.
 
Which is fun. but not exactly useful in real combat with the limited long ranged options available to a scout is it.

Quick get away, enhanced manoeuvrability, there's nothing worse for a heavy than fast agile scout

Being able to quickly flow through maps will really help him cap points, especially in maps like badlands

The shotgun is so overpowered.

Pyro is easy to kill with most classes though. Demo & Solider have easy two hit kills against them:

shoot at feet, then melee when they're mid-air or shoot them again.

Medic with blut vs medic = medic wins most of the time

shotgun overpowered :confused: :eek: is underpowered as hell. and the drink is useless as u cant do anything while u in effect not even shoot.

one thing witch is good is the bat + ball, but in my opinion ubers should not be stunned.
 
on the TF2 forum, they're all praising the bonk drink, as you can act as a diversion to all sgs, whilst your team's demo's etc take them out

Not when I play as a pyro :) ( nearly only play goldrush). My problem is though, scouts were NEVER an issue, they were easy kills, now they make my fly back out of attack range :(. How can a guy so thin push back a guy with a heavy flamethrower in a heavy anti heat suit ?

It may have less damage, but more bullets which make up for it.
The push back and fire speed more than makes up for it, it's impossible to come close to a scout now and have fun, before the update even when I was a heavy I just used boxing gloves for fun against scouts, now it's impossible.

It's very easy to play as a soldier now I have noticed and engineer has it easier too, but I find playing as them boring, I like being a pyro or heavy.
EDIT WTF I just flew like 5 yards from a bloody shotgun shot while being a heavy, they have screwed the balance, there shouldn't be any weapons except demomans stuff, rockets and turrets that move you when hit.
Force a nature is impossible.

a few small fixes released..

Updates to Team Fortress 2 have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The specific changes include:

Gameplay changes

* Removed the damage reduction against non-stunned enemies on the new bat
* Players with full health can now pick up dropped sandviches


Fixes

* Reverted the change that treated chat text starting with / as a command instead of passing it through as chat
* Fixed a crash related to baseball impacts
* Fixed the Heavy's hands disappearing when he's stunned while wearing the KGB
* Fixed the BONK! particles appearing in the air when the bat's taunt kill is used on a target
* Fixed Force-A-Nature description not fitting inside the item window
* Fixed the Axtinguisher

Have they fixed the taunt animations yet? At the minute you only hear the words and the model just stands there with their lips moving.

As for some of the updates, can't really believe valve "fixed" the facestab issue by making the spy kill even faster. Basically they just shortened\sped up the animation and that was it :(

Seems to be a problem with certain servers, because tonight, ive been bouncing around a few servers and its definatly a server bound issue. Not sure why some get it and some dont....:(

if you're blue you push the cart (by standing on it/near it) to the red base, going through checkpoints which add more time to the clock

if you're red, you try and stop blue.

i'd play with either... pyro/solider/medic to get used to the gameplay, medic is a good one to start with imo so you can watch other people play as you heal them.

once your 'ubercharge' reaches 100% when healing someone, you can right click and they'll become invulnerable for 10 seconds (and glow red or blue, depending which team you're on) -you will be invulnerable too, just keep close to them so it doesn't 'break' the stream

feel free to add me mate 'bledd' will have a few games together to get you started

If you were playing on GTFO servers they disabled the taunts as it was causing servers to crash.
 
Not sure i like it that the energy drink scouts can't be hit by turrets (thats what it seems anyway). Otherwise you dont even need to uber the demo/soldier/heavy taking out the turret if the sentry is firing none-stop at something it can't kill. Might really mess up defending maps if this is the case.

I see it as a great thing

1) it promotes teamwork - you need a soldier/demo and scout to work together to take out a sentry
2) it prevents turtling, and 2 hour 2fort stalemates

Before anyone say's it's an overpowered tactic, teamwork from the defenders can break this - a pyro can airblast stickies and rockets away whilst the engi repairs.

It's TEAM fortress :)
