scout update TF2

Spies can now control which weapon the enemy team sees them holding. Hitting the "last disguise" key while disguised updates the disguise to show the Spy's currently held weapon

I think they may of ruined the spy a bit with this...from a gameplay point of view. :rolleyes:

That is so fail!

Rather than fixing the facestab problem properly, they have just removed the fun and skill from the class by making an auto backstabbing noob...

:(
 
Just noticed what they have done with when you press g to do a taunt. Now the camera angle is way out and just looks wierd...much prefered the old way. :rolleyes:

Agree kind of there, removing sidestabs makes me a sad panda :(

This post on the steam forums makes some interesting points. Disappointed that they've removed the sidestab/farstabs but at least we have some things to ease the pain.

I'm even more ****ed at no multi-core support and no new official maps or a new gametype. People say you cannot complain as we get these updates for free, etc, etc but I just can't help feel that this update isn't up to the standard of previous updates. The Steam forums are full of hating about the update & the sandman. Although I haven't played much with the update yet, I can see where they are coming from.

So yeah, not really excited about any of the weapons or maps. Egypt is an interesting map and visually looks great, but I'm not sure if it will play very well....

No doubt Valve will tweak this update like they have done in the past, but it's a 'meh' update feeling from me :(

Nothing will recapture the excitement and fun of running around badwater all as heavies taunting each other, or medics on goldrush ubering each other on the night of the updates :D
 
The only problem with updates is that the servers aren't much fun to play if you don't want to play that class. IE 90% of people are playing as scouts and when i swapped to pyro i got "flamed" (excuse the pun) for being a n00b and kicked from the server :(

I play pyro, medic and occasionally demo/heavy. Got the pyro achievements quickly, but heavy is coming more slowly and medic is just a pain. Who thinks healing 7000 points would be even possible without spawn camping??

The healing acheivements are easy if you couple yourself with a heavy that has a clue. :)
 
i've had i think 12000 or 14000 ish medic healing points in one life, defending B on gravelpit, i was on the frontline the whole time, with a kritzkrieg charing :)
 
After trying out some of the new scout things (i havnt got the drink yet), I've found that the baseball is quite buggy, it only seems to correctly stun the person 80% of the time, and the other times just bounces harmless off them.
 
Healing 10000 isn't that bad. Just stand behind corners etc.. when not ubered and then go when you are. Start making your way back before your uber reaches 0.

I got mine on badwater, also helps when you have other medics who heal you. Too many medics just ignore everyone.

I had 15000 on dustbowl with 0 deaths and top scorer by a long shot but as it doesn't carry on between sections I never got it :(

Also at least it's only a week's worth of item removal for those people and not a permaban -could have been worse!

I played some last night and got BONKED! first time.

i only had about 3 rounds last night :( went to tesco with the gf and it took flippin forever, ended up like

to tesco

on a 32man badwater server (normal spawn) i managed to get a 1:1 kill ratio of 60/60 with scout :o in a mixture of defending and attacking, unlocked 3 achievements so far
 
The scout unlocks are really, really poor.
The new scatter gun? whats the point seriously? at best its a terrible replacement for the double jump if using the bat and ball and at worst its useless with only 2 shots per clip on anything you couldnt pretty much 2 hit with the bat anyway - and yes, you do have to be-that- close due to its reduced damage, but more bullets fired.
Bat and ball - Ok, this sucks too, great for stunning the medic or heavy in an uber rush to **** things over but for the entire rest of the time your useless since it does next to no damage against non stunned targets.
Energy drink - the one saving grace, its awesome .. wouldnt swap this now.
