My stepdad's seagate expansion drive has stopped being recognised in Windows.
Showing a code 43 and the device descriptor request failed. It has all his Steam games on and with his new GPU he cannot enjoy them.
I have tried:
Rebooting
Uninstalling the device in Device Manager and rebooting
Uninstalling both USB 3 Root Hub's in Device Manager
Tried both USB2 and USB3 ports
A different power socket
Fast boot is disabled
It's set to 0 in "shut off time" for the HDD in Power Plan settings
USB Selective Suspend is disabled
A power light comes on on the drive in blue, but it gives 2 beeps.
Any ideas what else to try? I have not yet tried it on my PC which I'm about to do.
Edit: Not recognised on my PC either.
It spins up, I get 2 beeps while it seeks and I can hear it do that, then the spinning dies down.
