Bale is an intense actor. It's why he performs so well. I don't find it objectionable, really. If someone was hassling me when I was really in the zone at work I'd probably get hacked off after a while.
I needed somewhere to keep some books, so I called up Sean Connery and told him to bring his toolkit. He drilled a few holes in the wall, fitted some brackets and screwed on a bit of wood. I was just in the process of paying him, when the whole lot fell out of the wall and took a huge chunk out of the plasterwork. I looked at him angrily, and he simply said "Oh, I'm sho ashamed of myshelf".
Hacked off is one thing, but threatening to ruin a mans career and the verbal assault he received from Bale was way over the top. To me it indicates either a complete lack of self control or an overly inflated opinion of your importance. We all get peved with people at work, but if someone behaved like that in a normal work place they'd be out on their ear. But he knew he could get away with it, so he treated someone like a bit of dirt, I can't therefore help but feel the guy has a serious character flaw.
In many ways you see the same in resturants. Customers showing off my treating waiters like pooh and trying to belittle them. However lovely their other qualities may be, I just can't stand being near them.
Yes, I can. I enjoy watching the Rock, just as I enjoy watching Lethal Weapon despite the presence of the neo-fascist Mel Gibson. The problem is, however, that there are loads of people saying how awesome he is, and how he's 'the man', after having watched a video of him bragging about beating his wife. But not only that, people are laughing about the proclamation itself, and many appear to think that it makes him even cooler!Can you separate his work from him as a person? I like some of the music by the Sex Pistols but think Sid Vicious was an odious little sod - I don't see it as a problem to like the work but not the person or vice versa.
I don't believe for even a split second he was offered a 15% share, there is simply no chance. An actor would only get that for a project he was partially funding himself. 1.5% share.... maybe, even then, very unlikely IMHO. He's a big name and well known, but in terms of this role, who he is, he wasn't the only possible choice as other actors would be for other parts in other films.

I didn't get that feeling, I have to admit.I'd rather assumed that the laughing about it wasn't actually intended as condoning it but more of an attempt at irony or a double-bluff as it were.
After a bunch of truly silly captions, does this not seem, considering the content of the video, to be slightly tongue in cheek?More proof needed? The smoking gun:
I must be bored to be lulled in responding to some of these comments

The video is funny because:
a) He has no problem, without any shame, saying that he disagrees with someone on the subject, which is generally a controversial and harrowing one;
b) The expertly comical timing of "........... I think it's absolutely right".
c) He doesn't condone punching women mercilessly without reason, he is 'just' saying he would raise a fist if pushed to his limit by a provocative woman. It's obviously still a bad thing, but it doesn't cancel out the humour of points a) and b).
Shame on you for making me type that out! :/
