Went for £450 eventually. You'd easily sell it at the price you paid I'm sure. No need to entertain offers either as everyone will know you could in theory go and get more.
Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

I got no offers at all for my 2070 Super up at £500. Eventually sold elsewhere for £450 which I would have been happy to accept here. I even invited offers! In my experience most people on the MM are sound though, and I think we could and should be ‘trusted’ to charge what we bloody well like!
I think a bit of ‘modest’ scalping would be fine and expected at the moment. E.g. I’d have happily paid someone charging say £850 for a 3080FE on the MM, that they’d bagged for £650. I would hope the ridiculous scalping you see on eBay wouldn’t happen on the MM. And if it did, people can still simply choose not to pay it.
Freedom of choice ain’t it, you know, that thing we used to have before the world went generally ******* insane on many levels a few years ago.

You do have freedom of choice i.e. the choice to sell on ebay if you want to gain "profit". Clearly if you're wanting to sell on for a profit, then ebay is where you'll want to go as you'll obviously get far more than what you would ever get on here.
If you're happy to pay someone a profit then great but myself and a lot of people aren't willing to get bent over and let sellers take advantage of todays situation especially for a opened/used item....
i.e. take misschief 2070s as above for example, he was asking for £500, which seems high for a used 2070s but he bought it for £550+ so that's fair in todays market, however, had he been asking for more than what he paid, then it's just a **** take.

We offer the members market as a service to our community, a safe, moderated, space for our members to buy & sell their second hand hardware. We're not taking a cut, unlike the traditional marketplaces. This service costs us money to operate and it's obvious from the current situation on the bay what unregulated pricing results in.Is that for real?
So let me get this straight, ocuk themselves engage in blatant ‘profiteering’ at the moment whenever any stock arises for GPUs. Yet we can’t charge more for something in the MM than what we paid for it?
Capitalism for me but not for thee eh. Disgraceful. It’s no wonder I never actually buy anything from ocuk shop anymore. Haven’t for years and years now.
Rules are there to keep things in line. It's the only way to stop "gentlemen" turning into what you see elsewhere.I get what you’re saying bud. I’ve never used eBay and never would though.
This is why I think a spot of grown up, light profiteering would be ok on the MM at this unprecedented time of shortages.

There's no perfect system but we try. If you have such a major problem with OcUK, you could leave our forum completely.

that might be the first time anyone has ever accused me of that. Generally it's "grumpy", "rude", "undiplomatic", "sledgehammer"you still sound like a politician Scotti![]()

“Gentlemen’s profiteering” it would be on here. And it would be policed not by the tyrannical despot mods of ocuk, but by the very moral fibre of we the people!![]()
Except how does one define "gentlemen's profiteering"? i.e. you said you would be happy to pay someone an extra £200 on top of the £650 they paid.... but to me, that is not light profiteering, anything more than £10 over what the owner paid is taking the ****, even more so for a used device and even more so if it is a 1/2+ years old......
Not sure it's worth a thread of its own? Seems Intel may be spending 20 billion on two fabs in Arizona "To compete with TSMC"? https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/intel-declares-war-taiwan-semi-again-and-wall-street-delighted
Wow that's crazy, hope you got cash for it? at that price would be a huge gamble on the auction place?Well, sold my Radeon VII yesterdayfor £1650, had already bought a XFX Merc 6800XT a week ago for £1175, hoping I'd get a decent price for radeon VII.
After deductions made a profit of £310.
This shouldn't happen.
