Security guards - bad experience

There reply was cos the club said the code Angela had been said
But saying Angela for what?

I thought the story was your wife said it to the police? If so, it doesn't explain why the bouncers detained you both.

I would go to the police station and ask them about the incident.

The strange thing is since the minute I got In the bar my wife was sat next to me the whole night so she didn’t even go up anywhere. It was a group table with another people on, mybe it was someone else on the table
This is the one and only sensible reply you are getting - go to the police and make a complaint. You were illegally imprisoned. Bouncers can of course restrain someone until the police arrive if required or until they check the validity of any ‘Ask for Angela’ accusation but they aren’t allowed to lock you in a room.

You’ll also want to make a formal complaint about the officers who arrived on scene as they should have known that.

But it didn’t happen the way you’re claiming so you’ll not do anything.

The police told me they can keep us there is they bouncers believe there has been a issue that requires the police
The problem is the police don’t really always basement the other time because there not going to all over the floor when bouncers keep you their. Good luck though

If it happened, do as @Thekwango says

Report them to the Police and then update the thread please.

The officers on the job are calling me back tomorrow

The bouncers just kept saying we are doing checks when I asked to go. I called 999 when I was in there a few times and they finally got there just over two hours later and said Angela was reported but my wife hadn’t even heard of this until now

Thanks I’ll let u no what they say, just doesn’t seem right

Vickie: Évian is "naïve" spelled backward.

fake e: in hindsight, this isn't the glorious film and dialogue I remember. Reality bites, huh?

* pause *

Ah, I see !

And when you said to the police "why if angela was reported, did they detained the lady who allegedly reported it rather than assist the lady to leave, which is the entire purpose of the ask for angela program", what was their response ?

That's when the dragons appeared and **** got really weird!

Glasgow? Word on the street is when put in an Angela situation, you need to use the safe phrase "Purple Burglar Alarm", this lets the security guards know that it's a wind up and would have let you out.

So the police aren’t long of the phone to me and I have a better understanding to it slightly

Basically my wife never mentioned any Angela code they said it was two people in the club that brought a domestic issue to the staffs attention

As I said before we were on a shared table with other people and they must have taken a disliking to me or thought get rid of me to try and batter into my wife, not knowing she would be put in a basement room too. I can’t think of any other reason they would do this as me and my wife were having a great night up to this point.

The police said that the bouncers are able to withhold us in a room until the police arrive and it was just unfortunate the police took a while to arrive as they were very busy that night.

The police said the bouncers should probably have dealt with it better, considering I had a panic attack due to me being claustrophobic, not allowing me to go to the toilet, dancing to music when they seen I was distressed, making it look like they done something to the water they gave me etc.

They said I can’t take it any further through the police and my only options is to complain to the club, which I already done and they said going to the police only for any issues about it or go to the company the bouncers are from, mybe SIA and report them.

I asked the club and the police for a subject access request of the cctv in the basement but was denied it from both the club and the police, as I would have liked to shown the council who issues the license they way they acted with me

Looks like I’m at a dead end and can’t do much else which does angers me but it was worth a try. I’m still amazed they can get away with treating customers like this who have done absolutely nothing wrong.

If you want some “Justice 4 Gary” go down to the local traveller camp and offer them £500 to jump the bouncers.

You could also start a gofundme to pay the travellers. Maybe even call up the local rag to get some publicity? Get some mates to vouch for you?

“Are Gary didn’t do nothing, wouldn’t harm a fly” - Shanice B.

“R Gazza is being treated like the real Gaza, the Palestinian city like. Weres the justice?” - Barry S.

“Gary is a real salt of the earth fella. Loaned me his bicycle puncture repair kit to patch me colostomy bag” - Reginald F
